  1. great idea. I can see why you have so many people interested. you have been a very busy guy, and no maybe sales in the craft shows.. Dick heppnerguy
  2. I am busy working on order requests and Christmas gifts for the family. Also still trying to wrap up some projects around the house before the weather gives out here. It is still in the 70's and 80's but I know it won't last much longer. Then I can fire up my wood burning stove in my shop and get my gifts done and maybe get back to my Eiffel Tower, that would be a kick Dick heppnerguy
  3. I actually decided to try a spiral on this one, even though I do not like them. I did the trees in the background but was happy to go back to my more comfortable straight cut blades. I am not vond of the spirals because they are difficult for me to control and give me too rough of a cut. i see what you mean on this particular piece, Carl. I just can't make myself fall in love with the spiral blades. to those that have mastered them, my hat is off to them, but for me.. No Thanks. It was not a difficult piece to cut but I did find it to be interesting and not as challenging as I thought it would be.. I think I can cut about any pattern I decide to try a go at. Dick heppnerguy
  4. I would be interested to see what you think of this after you have used it for awhile. Dick heppnerguy
  5. This is a pattern by Paul (Grampa). I down loaded it awhile back, not being sure if it was something I had the ability to cut or not. I ran across it the other day, in my pattern collection and knew that I still wanted to cut it. so here is my efforts. Thank you Paul for the pattern, it was a pleasure for me to cut. Sorry for the poor photo.. Dick heppnerguy
  6. Looks like the wallets will be opening.. best of luck on the sales. You should expect to do well as these should be appealing to a lot of people Dick heppnerguy
  7. I like your pieces very much. so glad you shared them with us Dick heppnerguy
  8. Now you know that there is nothing that you can not cut. It is, after all, one hole at a time. Don't hesitate to cut any pattern you like, because after that one. there are no patterns you can master.. go have more fun, I love what you did Dick heppnerguy
  9. I saw 'construction crane' and I immediately just knew it was a piece made by Hans. so I clicked on it and, presto' I was right. Fun item, Hans. another really well done piece by you. Dick heppnerguy
  10. I don't cut a lot of portraits but when i do I usually cut with 1/8 or 1/4 inch BB ply. love to see some of your work. any problems let us know because everyone can learn something new when someone give some information. Often I discover something I have never realized was even a problem for me until someone ask a question and another person gives them an answer. I find myself saying, "I didn't know that" , many times Dick heppnerguy
  11. I too wish to welcome you to The Scroll Saw Village Family. We all enjoy our new members who quickly find out that they stumbled onto some of the nicest people on the planet. Of course ever family as an old grump somewhere among the group and i just happen to be the family 'old grump'.. Because everything is done over the internet here, I have not had the opportunity to bite anyone yet, but I am lurking in the sawdust from the scrollsaws. . Really though, take a long stroll around the Village and check out the great teaching videos that Travis has posted here in the university part. most important thing is....come back here often. Trust me, you will never regret it if you do. Dick heppnerguy
  12. Glad you stopped by and introduced yourself to us all. I do hope you will not forget to log in after you complete your journey on the trail and the blisters have all healed. I too would enjoy seeing some photos when you return. I am not sure I could give up my saw for any reason but I would bet that you will regret selling it and turn around and buy another one soon after you get back home. Have fun. Oh, by the way, If I could have any saw I wanted, it would be the one you have. Dick heppnerguy
  13. Thanks Larry for the pat on the back...I love what I do, but it is not talent or artist, what I do. It is an effort to try and please someone else by doing what i love most, after God, my wife, my family and my friends, and that includes all of you in my Scroll Saw Village Family too Dick heppnerguy
  14. https://www.facebook.com/pages/Maket-yap%C4%B1m%C4%B1/425443274132457?id=425443274132457&sk=photos_stream This is the one I was talking about. Hans Dick heppnerguy
  15. Nice job. I knew I had seen that cross but couldn't locate it. I will be buying that pattern too. Great job Dick heppnerguy
  16. I am going to try the royal carriage from that sight. i have remade the pattern and now all i need it some extra time.. Nice stagecouch, my friend Dick heppnerguy
  17. Danny, I can see that you have spent a lot of time on some of these..The Santa one has many boarder cuts. I rarely sell anything for less than $25 and most for around $40 and up. I do quite well on my facebook page but I, personally do not do craftshows because I am not interested in making a lot of wood items to sit around my shop the rest of the year. I find in craft shows, unless they are really big, most people seem to be looking for something they can pick up for under $20. I find it not worth my time. But obviously most don't agree with me. I hope you can find the price that sells your items for you. Let us know how you do. Dick heppberguy
  18. I am not good at woodworking, designing, making one piece of wood adhere to another in a 'pleasing to the eye' form. but i love to get lost in my shop and make gifts for people I love. I have little to no talent, so I guess I must be a crafter of sort. Dick heppnerguy
  19. I too have tried, what I call 'colorization' but i never seem to achieve what I am after. You succeeded in doing waht i have been shooting for. what did you use for the coloring? Great job on the pattern, cutting and colorizing. Dick heppnerguy
  20. If I remember correctly. you showed us the photo and the process that you took to make the pattern. It came out very nice. It was definately worth the wait. Dick heppnerguy
  21. I know what you are talking about. Others see the art while the scroller sees the flaws, even the smallest ones that no one else can see. I talked about this very thing with my Effel Tower and If you aren't satisfied, it doesn't matter what anyone else thinks, some times. if you ain't happy, you just buck up and make another one.. but it looks great to me too Dick heppnerguy
  22. Hi Mick, Glad you found something that you can do without too much strain on the body. You have selected a great saw and now as you sit down and cut things you will quickly find out just how rewarding scrolling is. My house is filled with things I cut and i can't even remember how many gifts I have made over the years. Be sure and show us some of the things that you are making. We love it when someone posts their work. Any Questions about anything to do with scrolling, fire away. There is a lot of talented people here and they are all so willing to share their knowledge with anyone that needs some help with scrolling. Dick heppnerguy
  23. welcome Lorie, So happy to see you found us and that your curiosity got you started in the scrolling arena. I remember how excited I was when I got started enjoying scrolling too. Lately The Village is starting to get a lot more people finding us from 'down under'. I hope that you soon understand that spending a large part of your 'out of the shop' time here, the sooner you will find that everyone here enjoys The Village because of the people that hang out here. So keep coming back often so that we can get to know you better and explore the entire sight there are many wonderful nooks and crannies to explore. Hope to see you around here often Dick heppnerguy
  24. Welcome to The Village, Don't do yourself a dishonor and only come here for the free patterns. ( you are very welcome to do so, if that is what you desire ) but coming back often and getting to know everyone here is way more valuable than are the patterns, even though they are a great source of things to cut, but by getting to know the people here you quickly become a part of one of the largest unrelated families in the world. The people here are a lot of fun too, so get on board, That is my advice, but it is all up to you. I promise if you decide to log on often and become a part of our family, you will never know loneliness again..if that were ever the case for you Dick heppnerguy
  25. nice pieces.. fun to put out items that you know will be appreciated and proudly displayed, as you know these will Dick heppnerguy
