  1. Alex. Your patterns are always delightful and full of a fresh way to look at scroll projects. Thanks for all you do and share. Dick heppnerguy
  2. Well I have to tell you how I view this project. I, personally, really like the color of the backer board that the fact that is carries on through the entire project. I thought how perfect it was, when I saw it and I also think it brings out a sort of fearfulness to the buffalo. Also I really like the frame you made and the color and size of it, as I believe it makes the buffalo look like he is challenging whom ever is looking him in the eyes. I always appreciate constructive criticism and see if I would have done something a little differently, seeing it through someone else's eyes. I just happen to have a different view on this one than does FrankEV and it is ok to look at things in a different light than another person. It really doesn't make one of us right or wrong, it just means we have a little different view point on our likes. Nothing wrong with that, in my opinion. The good part is you get some information to consider on your next project, perhaps Dick heppnerguy
  3. A very good use of your scraps. Now they will be in demand. Beautiful job Dick heppnerguy
  4. You are going to run out of room. I was wondering when you were going to get around and make one of me for you entertainment wall. Hey, my wife had my make one of myself. I thought I was going to get a place of honor in our front room until I spotted it in the cupboard and ask her why she put it in there where no one could see it. She replied, " I didn't want it for people to look at, I wanted it to keep the mice out of the cupboard." I keep trying to justify it by thinking that it does have some value after all. 5. rather then painting the label why not put some mineral spirits on it and after a minute it will almost fall off and you wont need to worry about getting paint on the record grooves. Dick heppnerguy
  6. I enjoyed both projects. Always good seeing what people are doing in their shops. Thanks for posting so that I too can view it. Dick heppnerguy
  7. I love it when i come across a pattern that has good detail and a little bit of challenge to go along with it. Thank you for the nice comments. Dick heppnerguy
  8. Thank you for your kind comments. I love to scroll fret work when I get a chance Dick heppnerguy
  9. that was several years ago and because animal puzzles do not excite me much I only made the patterns and sent them to the man. I did not bother to keep them because I knew I was never interested in cutting them, just trying to help someone else. Dick heppnerguy
  10. I am anxious to see your stagecoach project. I too, am eyeing it for one of my next cuts. Dick heppnerguy
  11. Thank you. It is so nice of you to take the time to look at the few things I get around to cutting. It is extremely hot in Southern Arizona in the summer. I hear it is also quite warm in England right now also. It is often 90 degrees F. for a low temperature at night here so the shop get pretty warm and it is difficult to cool it off so that it is comfortable enough to scroll. I do have an air conditioner in my shop but the area of the shop is fairly large and the daily outdoor temperature is up to 113 degrees some days but always at least 104 degrees, on cooler days. The temperature does not change much even if we have a windy day or a cloudy day. Makes spending much time in the shop a bit uncomfortable. Dick heppnerguy
  12. Thank you for your kind comment. It was too good of a pattern for me to not give it a try. Dick heppnerguy
  13. Thank you Lawson. Coming from you, that is a really nice compliment, as your work is always outstanding, while I find some struggle time, now and then, as I get older. Dick heppnerguy
  14. Thank you. I am pretty happy with the outcome. It took a little longer than I expected it to but I do still have to spend more time to finish the project. Dick heppnerguy
  15. This method I am talking about works on all wood that I have tried. Like I said, the pattern almost literally falls off on it 's own. Dick heppnerguy
  16. pretty darn cute little projects. Looks like you have not lost any of your magic at the saw. Dick heppnerguy
  17. Frank, you continue to amaze me with your painting skills and it makes me want to keep trying with my colorization of my cuts but I always disappoint myself with my failures with it. Dick heppnerguy
  18. great cutting job and I like Grampa's patterns too. He gives a lot of himself to others through his pattern making Dick heppnerguy
  19. Another fun project. i again love how you do your videos. You do a swell job with them and I can't stand the videos that others make and do their work with no talking and a lot of annoying music all through the video. Thanks again for your presentations, and keep up the good work and postings. Dick heppnerguy
  20. I am so glad that other people have more insight than I have and can see that people have different likes and should never try to out guess the public. That is my problem with my choices of patterns I wish to cut. Nice job on the puzzle. you did your usual fantastic job on this project. Dick heppnerguy
  21. I had a man, several years ago, that saw an animal puzzle I had posted and he asked me where I got the pattern. I told him that I had made it and he asked me if I would sell the pattern to him. I replied that he was more than welcome to have it for free. He then told me he was new to scrolling and was looking for more animal puzzles to cut so I made him several and sent them to him. He was very excited about having them. They are so easy to make and cut. I, personally have not been very interested in puzzles so I rarely cut any, unless it is a request for a great grandchild of ours. I am always amazed when I see others cutting projects that I don't bother to cut and often they sell a lot of them. Puzzles are a good example of what I am talking about. It just proves to me that I should not try to second guess about other peoples likes and dislikes and instead I should not judge my likes to be like everyone elses and give more attention to cutting all sorts of items. You have a much better handle on this subject then do I. Keep right on cutting those puzzles and so many other things that I have chosen to ignore and perhaps I will 'wake the hell up', as Jeff Dunham would say. Dick heppnerguy
  22. I made another Steve Good Strato caster guitar for a friend and mailed it off today without photographing it first but I also finally got around to cutting a Russ Beard pattern that I have had my eye on for a long time. I am really into fret work right now but can not always get around to cutting them. Having been gone for about a month and away from my shop I have not been able to much of anything in my shop. That said, I cut this Mountain Sheep just to finally give it a try. As you can see, I still have the framing to do. I had purchased one for it but the pattern turned out to be a little larger than I anticipated. After I finish the framing and finish work, I have decided not to post that as this shares the part I am really interested with this project. I have a request for one of my farm combines so I may put off the finishing touches on this one until I get it done. I have to add that I am anxious to cut yet another of Russ Beards pattern as soon as i can. Dick heppnerguy
  23. That project looks really nice. I have yet to try any epoxy on a project. i like how it works though. Dick heppnerguy
  24. Beautifully done. i have to agree on her great pattern designs. I love the fonts she uses. Dick heppnerguy
  25. Once away from the saw for awhile often causes me to wonder how it used to be so easy to do but after a little time it gets back to normal for me. Dick heppnerguy
