  2. It is no longer a mystery as to why you are such a great pattern maker and scroller. With a wife of such talents, you have no choice but to be especially good at what you do, or you would have to feel second best

  7. nothing is much more fun then to make things for the grand kids. we have 13 greats and 12 great grands so I understand how fun it is to do things with them. It builds up the bonding as well as the memories, while helping them to explore possible hobbies in the future. Dick heppnerguy
  8. You are a busy guy. I like all the originality you put into your projects. I too especially like the way you make your frames, as they are like no one else's. Dick heppnerguy
  9. Really nice project. You are showing a lot of scrollers what the 'horrible' spiral is made for. Keep up the great work. Dick heppnerguy
  10. Great job on the pattern and again you took a scroll project and bumped it up, as you always do, with a nice home made frame and and a great finish all to bring great appreciation from another person. Congratuations once more.. Dick heppenerguy
  11. A project well done and with great intentions for it. i love to give my work to others and watch to see how they react to it. Very nice of you,,,and I do not think it will take him very long to notice it. Dick heppnerguy
  12. I can see that you are really liking Botas's patterns too. He sure is good at making nice patterns that are still simple enough that they are fun to cut. Beautiful workmanship on this one by you, again Dick heppnerguy
  13. Another of your splendid patterns and skillful cuttings. As usual, way over the top. Dick heppnerguy
  14. I never thought I would look at a rat and think to myself, "that is cute"' but you made that happen today. You and Botus, that is. fun little piece Dick heppenrguy
  15. I think your mother was right....they often are. I will just keep plugging away until I get to a point where it just is more work then fun for me. I love scrolling so much but it just seems to get more difficult to do, sometimes. I still enjoy the idea that I can take a plain old piece of wood and actually turn it into something I enjoy, and often, so do others. Dick heppnerguy
  16. you are talking about machines I have never heard of before. Obviously you know what you are doing. I can add only one thing to what all the other comments that are made here and that is 'I thank you for posting this real work of art.' Dick heppnerguy
  17. I am not very happy with it but I just wanted others to know I am still working in my shop. I seem to not being able to come up with the quality I know I can do. I am wondering if my age has anything to do with that or something like that. I can see ok and I have slowed down with my cutting too. Just cant seem to get things done as expected. I have so many patterns that I want to cut too. Dick heppnerguy
  18. I did a good job cutting it but not so good finishing it. I had to break it loose because it was not going well, and start the gluing all over again. I was going to put a riser in one place but I had placed the piece where the riser was going, in place to be sure I got the other pieces in their proper spot. well I guess some glue from the pieces next to it go onto the backer board and I could not remove it so I could put the riser in place,,,hence it did not come out as expected, so I am not very happy with it. Thank you for the nice support anyway. I do appreciate all the support that if given to everyone in The Village, even it the project is not very well done. The wrong criticism could really hurt or discourage a newby. Dick heppnerguy
  19. I must have made one brilliant move by taking the photo from this angle.. Dick heppnerguy
  20. I think anyone could do better then I did on this one, but thanks for the encouragement, I probably need some of that right now. Dick heppnerguy
  21. I don't think I could do that as it is pretty sore from the beating the wife gave me for it. Dick heppnerguy
  22. It was a super easy piece but I had a ridiculous amount of trouble for no reason. I told my wife it probably will look ok if it is viewed from across the room. I definitely need to do another one for her or stop getting older. Not sure which one will be easier. Dick heppnerguy
  23. I have had this pattern for a long time and I believe I got it from the Scroll saw magazine, quite awhile back. I just ran across is as I was looking for a different one and I showed it to my wife and she said she would like one of them. So here it is. I do not remember who the pattern maker is. I am quite disappointed in how it came out, as I found myself having to take it apart but still could not seem to get it right. From the far side of the room, it looks ok though. I only posted it because I don't want anyone to think I am sitting on my duff, watching TV Dick heppnerguy
  24. I love how you do this type of work. Everything is always so perfect and stands out fantastically Dick heppnerguy
  25. This is the kind of pattern that is fun to cut and not very cluttered. So my hat is off to the pattern maker and for your great execution of the project. Dick heppnerguy
