  1. that is what they say. Never owned any farm equipment, myself. I did own a John Deere gator though Dick
  2. I hope so. Motor cyclist like bikes, Car people their automobiles and farmers, their equipment that costs more then most people are worth, including their houses and cars. Dick
  3. Thank you, everyone. I appreciate the encouragement even when I know it could be a lot better than I do. Getting older has a few drawbacks like lacking a little patience and getting more and more the attitude of "good enough". That does not work well for most scrollers but seems to be working okey for me. Dick heppnerguy
  4. My granddaughter ask me if I had a pattern for a Farm Combine. I could not find one. After she was gone for about a month I found one and purchased it. She wanted to give it to a neighbor who had been a big help to her and her husband on their farm, as a thank you gift. I have never enjoyed wooden toys much but I decided to try and make one anyway. It was a little complex to understand the patterns at first and I even glued one of them on backwards and had to cut it off and hopefully it could figure out how to do that without damaging the preexisting vehicle. I got lucky on it and was able to cut another piece and put it on without it being noticeable. the wheels and the front cutting roll and the yellow grain shoot pivots too, to give it some interest. It was a little difficult for me but I am glad it came out as well as it did. I plan on making one for a farm guy who gave me a ride in one as he cut his field when I was in Oregon a few months ago. 5. The Steve Good Skull pattern is one like I had on display in our house for a Halloween decoration that my granddaughter, who was visiting from Oregon last week, liked so much I just gave it to her. As soon as they left, I went to my shop and made this one to put back into our decorations for Halloween. It is very easy to make and my wife and I both enjoy displaying it. The second piece is a phone amplifier from Steve Good's pattern offers. I have looked at them for a long time, mainly wondering how well they work. I have to say, they do help some but I really thought they would do a little better job then it did. Easy and quick to make, even for a beginner. Dick heppnerguy
  6. I have been looking forward to your posts for some time now, as I always find them interesting to view and so well done. Thanks for sharing your work with us all Dick heppnerguy
  7. I have not seen this pattern as I went through Steve Good's patterns, he has so many of them. I can easily see why your wife was so happy with them. They came out really appealing. Good job. Dick heppnerguy
  8. Steve Good used to use lemon oil on a lot of his first patterns. He just dipped them in the oil and dried them off. It brings out the color of the wood really well and it is so easy to do. This method does not really put an long lasting result, as the oil eventually dissipates, but it can be redone about anytime it is needed. Just a thought. Dick heppnerguy
  9. Nice bowl making and I love your additional Elvis touch. I have been to the Elvis mansion but not to his birth place. Thanks for posting it all Dick heppnerguy
  10. A little different twist on the car patterns. I have not seen any done quite like these. Great job on them all. I like your idea, as original items always interest me because I simply do not have much of an imagination. Dick heppnerguy

    Bowls

It was a weave pattern bowl that caught my eye several years ago that got me into scrolling. I saw it and said to myself, "You can do this on scroll saw ?" I always enjoy seeing others become interested in cutting them, as well. Nine job on all of your bowls. Dick heppnerguy
  12. I have never had much desire to make wooden vehicles of any kind. The more I see them, the more interesting they are beginning to appeal to me. The ones like yours are so marvelous but the simpler examples I have always seen before just haven't peaked my interest. Your old trucks are so well done that I can't help buy admire them. I just finished a farm item that I will be posting soon. I have to say that I am happy with the results since it is the first of this kind of thing I have tried. I love your marvelous projects you have posted here and my hat is off to you for the effort and time spent to make these so real like. Dick heppnerguy
  13. Shat truly wonderfully done projects. You are a true artist. I also really like how you are able to come up with such wonderful ideas. I love what you do. Dick heppnerguy
  14. My problem is lack of wood suppliers in my area. So I had to settle for a light and dark 2 X 2 from Home Depot. It is just for the fun of making a set and giving it to my son. He loves chess and they are not what I would expect him to use but rather just to set in his man cave and enjoy that I was the one who made it for him. He will like it. I am not a great scroller but I sure enjoy working on things in my shop and giving them to others who, fortunately for me, Do not see the other wonderful items that other scrollers make, to compare them to. I would love to see your chess pieces when you finish them, so I hope you will post them here in The Village, some day soon Dick heppnerguy
  15. glad you are back and hope to see you working in a shop soon and posting projects. Dick heppnerguy
  16. I have never seen a person say they liked HF's scroll saw. I would suggest you return it and look for a used saw on Craigslist in your area. You need to have someone show you how well their used saw runs and cuts to be sure it will work for you before you buy it. Dewalt is one saw a lot of people use and is a good saw for the price and is a number one saw for a lot of scrollers. Watch the ads. Dick heppnerguy
  17. Welcome to The Village. I hope you can read the comments and that you explore all the forums here. log on often and we can get to know each other a lot more Dick heppnerguy

Thanks Dick. I did miss it.

  19. https://www.scrollsaw.com/collections/clocks-for-the-scroll-saw-sure-to-become-a-family-heirloom/fretwork you just need to scroll down to see the bell tower clock One is marked $7.95 and what looks like the same clock for $9.95 next to it, but if you open it, you will see that is gives you 3 fret cloth designs
  20. I just noticed that too. I meant to say unicorn clock
  21. My grandson was so excited about having it to give to her and told she would be sooo happy when she saw it Dick
  22. I really am not very knowledgeable about wood and did not put a finish on it, except for a couple of coats of poly urethane and a coat of wax. I will let her know that I will replace it for free if she finds it is weathering too much. I always give a free replacement guarantee if a replacement is needed and she knows that. Dick heppnerguy
  23. Look again, I had picked the incorrect photo and had to edit it . I think it should be up there now. Dick heppnerguy
  24. My grandson spent a couple of weeks visiting us from Oregon. He mentioned that he was wanting somethings for his girlfriend for Christmas and she was a big unicorn person. I had him look through some of my patterns and he came up with the unicorn clock, which it a Steve Good pattern. I printed out the pattern and quickly realized that the one size clock I had in my drawer was too large for the pattern as it was printed. I enlarged it so that the clock with fit. He watched me cut and finish the clock and was able to take it home with him the following day. It is made from a piece of 3/4 inch Poplar I had in my wood supply. He wanted it finished with lemon Oil so he could take it home with him in the morning. I was not particularly excited about the simplicity of the pattern but he was one excited guy when it was finished. He even called it 'perfect'. Who am I to argue with my customers? He said he did not wish to have the base as it was just exactly what he wanted. Dick heppnerguy
  25. Here is one that a cousin of mine ordered. She lost a dog that she had for 18 years and ask me to make her a cross for his grave marker. I got a reply from her yesterday that it had indeed gotten delivered and she said it was perfect. I won't argue with the buyer. I made this on out of cedar, as it was going outside and cedar seems to be a wood that is used outdoors and I too am happy with it. Dick heppnerguy
