  1. We should be getting married because we have found the person we want to share the rest of our lives together. Marriage is not about sex only, it should be about being with each other, putting our mates first in every phase of our lives and enjoying each other for as long as God gives us. Arguments happen because no two people are exactly alike or think alike at all times. Once one of us decides the hurt is not worth the pain and accepts and confesses that to the other and asks for forgiveness, life turns back to concentrating on loving one another. Being right or more right than the other person really should never tear us apart, even for a few moments. I try to ask myself if being right really worth the hurt it can cause and that is how I try to live my life with Sharon. She is truly the most important and exciting person I have ever been blessed to know. Dick heppnerguy
  2. Thank you, my friend. We spent our entire day doing things together and Sharon said she really felt loved by it. We are like two little teenagers in puppy love. We started that way and we continue to try and put each other first in all things we do. Sometimes I get spending too much time in my shop and Sharon let's me know when she is feeling that so I stay out of it for awhile to be with her. She eventually asks me why I am not going to my shop more and encourages me to do so. Dick heppnerguy
  3. I used to see how fast I could cut a pattern but now I have slowed down a lot and really take my time on things. I used to cut most of Steve Good's patterns in 20 to 30 minutes but now I find I am taking a couple of hours or sometimes more to make the same cut. Not sure if it has to do with my older age or if my brain and hand coridinations are just that much slower. I know my brain certainly is. Dick heppnerguy
  4. awe thanks for your beautiful comments. They mean a lot to both Sharon and myself. I thought the patterns fit our life and situations so well, I could not resist making them Dick heppnerguy
  5. Thank you so much. These plaques expressed to me just how we have become and we both still hold hands where ever we go and I still we still enjoy being married to each other and are still deeply in love. Dick heppnerguy
  6. thank you so much for the enthusiastic comments. Much appreciated. We are still very much in love and both plaques seem so much like us. Dick heppnerguy

  10. I am not sure that Sharon adores me, but I am very sure she loves me and she is my most precious gift God ever let me have. Not very fair to Sharon though. Dick heppnerguy
  11. Thank you so much. The meaning it has outshines whatever I did not do correctly in making it Dick heppnerguy
  12. Well you are already half way there. It isn't that long from now when that day rushes up on you and you almost feel surprised to made it this far. Congratulations on your 30 years and beings as how you still are in hopes of making it to 60 years, if the good Lord doesn't take one of you home to Him, you should make it. Loving and caring for one another daily, is the secret to having a happy long life together Dick heppnerguy
  13. Congratulations to both of you also. It seems times have changed a lot lately as so many couples seem to get a divorce as soon as some of the magic of married live runs a little short. It seems like people are married 25 years or more or stay married less then 5 years any longer Dick heppnerguy
  14. Thank you so much for the comment on my work, the Anniversary greeting and especially the blessing. Sharon and I both feel really blessed to still have each other after all these years. I believe neither of us expected we would both even be alive this long. Dick heppnerguy
  15. I am so lucky to have a wife that can love me after all the antics I put her through. She is an amazing person. Dick heppnerguy
  16. It seemed like the perfect idea when I saw both of these projects. It seemed to have the perfect match for our anniversary day. Dick heppnerguy
  17. I am in total dismay as to how she has put up with such a silly guy for most of her live and still occasionally enjoys having me around. I, on the other hand have no way to spend my time without having to put up with all my antics Dick heppnerguy
  18. Thank you so much for all the comments. She does like them a lot and is looking for the right place to hang them. It has been a great adventure and both of feel so blessed to still have one another Dick heppnerguy
  19. I am happy to say, she really liked these. We had a wonderful day together, yesterday and enjoyed every moment we shared. Dick heppnerguy
  20. I was trying to fine something to make for my wife, to give her tomorrow on our 60th anniversary. I came up with the idea of making her a couple of intaria pieces that would sort of picture our 60 years of marriage. These JGR patterns seem to be just the thing. So we have one plaque signifying our wedding and our start on our new journey in life, followed by the one of two elderly people, still holding hands and in love with each other, (as we are today). I believe the idea is really good and per-tenant. Problem being they are too big to really find a good place to display them. Perhaps I can cut the backer board out, leaving just the figures and that might work better. But for now, she will receive tomorrow what I am posting today Dick heppnerguy
  21. fun puzzle and very brightly colored. Should be an excited person receiving this. Dick heppnerguy
  22. absolutely amazing. You knocked out a pile of items and all look so perfectly done. Very impressive indeed. Dick heppnerguy
  23. That is where this type of discussions should be too. thanks for the note. Dick heppnerguy
  24. I do like this particular pattern and I am 80% happy with it. It has a lot of good detail so it does appeal to me more then most wooden toys. I made it not as a toy but as a display item for a farming boyfriend of one of my granddaughters. Glad you like it also Dick heppnerguy
  25. I, personally do not care a lot for most wooden toys. Nothing wrong with them and they are still quite popular, but I was asked by my granddaughter to make a combine for her to give to her farming neighbor for all the help he has given to her. So I agreed and got on line to try and find a pattern. Eventually I ran across this one and made it for her. Then my other granddaughter has a boyfriend that is a farmer and uses a combine to cut their wheat. So I decided that would be a perfect Christmas gift for him. It is not to play with but to be displayed on one of his shelves in the house. I do happen to like this particular pattern as it has some pretty good details to it and it is not just an outline of the vehicle with wheels, as so many are. Dick heppnerguy
