  4. Don't know the name of it. As you can see, it is a simple quick make though. and it is really interesting to play. Dick heppnerguy
  5. I have a game for two people that surprising looks really easy but in reality is quite fun and challenging, even if played with a new player. The squares are 1 inch by 1 inch, you can easily see what the other 4 pieces measurement are, just by looking at it. The four pieces are painted the same color on each side. the large colored pieces are placed With the large ends placed in the center of the board with the long parts both at the bottom of the board, facing away from each other and the black circles on the bottom corners. It starts out where the first person can make one move with the larger game pieces but cannot move the opponents piece, which, of course, would be the opposite colored game piece. The pieces can only be places on square that are free of the opponents piece and the two black circles. The after each move, the person has the choice to move one or both of the black circles to any open square, or he can elect to leave them lay as is. The person moving his larger game piece can leave it face up as it is when he picks it up or can elect to turn the piece over so that what was the bottom becomes the top. After that move, the opponent does the same thing with his piece with all the same electives of the previous player. ( these are choice with every move ) The object of the game is to position your piece so that the opponent has no where to place his game piece. sounds easy? Try it.
  6. A couple of really nice projects. splendid work. thanks for posting so we all can enjoy viewing it also Dick heppnerguy
  7. Great project of who was probably the best officer in the civil war. Unfortunately for the Union side, Lee opted out of serving them when President Lincoln asked Lee to do so. Dick heppnerguy
  8. I saw this posted on another site. It is a fantastic pattern and you really nailed it. I am going to have to look it up, as I too would like to take a stab at it. Dick heppnerguy
  9. What a great piece. I assume you made it for the girl and her parents. If not, start that saw humming again. I am sure they would love one of these. Dick heppnerguy
  10. I love this little box. You inlay really made it a special piece. You did a great job on this one Dick heppnerguy
  11. I saw this one on Steve's page. I thought it would make an interesting project. You proved my thoughts to be correct. Looking good Dick heppnerguy
  12. I like this project a lot. It turned out really cool. I like how you also decided to stain the base, as it helps the main project to stand out even more Dick heppnerguy
  13. me too, Bob. Sharing my skills with my new friend is so exciting for me and makes all this even better than it has been in the past. I love to link up with other scroller whenever I can and I have made it happen whenever I see an opportunity to do so. The first scroller I ever personally met was our Village chief bottle washer, Travis Cook. Then Ralph and Scrappile. I am so glad to have made the effort as it has payed off in so many ways. Dick heppnerguy
  14. thanks for the nice comment. I feel like the one most benefited by all this. I have given a lot of my work as gifts but this is the first time someone wanted to give it a try and share the fun and enjoyment that I have received through out my scrolling experience. My new friend has the right attitude where he understands that practice and time with the saw, is what is needed to get better and he is willing to put all of himself into this hobby and his progress is outstanding. I love the companionship and his willingness I get from having him learning from me and his taking away from the shop, new projects that make him feel proud of himself as well Dick heppnerguy
  15. Ralph, what a great compliment that is for you to give me. The benefits of this is more exciting to me than it probably is for my new friend. watching his progress is exciting and having someone to cut with me is a lot more fun for me then being alone in my shop. I am able to pass on a lot of pointers from my experience, to him, that was a huge learning one for me when I started all this. Dick heppnerguy
  16. I am so pleased with my friends workmanship, already. He has made 5 projects so far and the improvement is very rapid. It is so nice to have someone that is interested enough to cut with me. This will also increase our friendship even more. I am so happy about the entire results and I am bringing new aspects of ideas, for him, to tackle and he is so receptive. I am only one pattern away from having him try intarsia. I am the one that is profiting the most from this new experience of guiding my friend into this new adventure for him. Dick heppnerguy
  17. No I purchased it on line. Was not the best pattern as it had the rather jagged lines, not vector. Dick heppnerguy
  18. I have a few new friends in my neighborhood and one in particular that I just had to make a project for as a gift. He has a nice road bike that he enjoys a lot so I thought it would be nice to make him a wood piece for him of his bike. He was not only excited and humble to receive it but was extremely interested to see just how I could make such a project. So I invited him over to my shop and see for himself. When he told me he would be over the next day, I made a scroll saw pattern of a few squirrelly lines and after he watched me for a little while, I had him sit at my saw and said to him, "Now you cut there lines'. I also had a simple cat pattern from Steve Good that I had him start cutting and the following day he finished it and took it proudly home. Today he finished his third piece, a wood portrait of Elvis. He was so excited and so was I. Now I have someone to scroll with, in my shop. I am the lucky one for making and gifting him with this motorcycle. Dick heppnerguy
  19. Very nicely done. I am sure he will be very excited when he gets it. Dick heppnerguy
  20. I stumbled upon a geocache once and found it very it interesting. I thought it would be fun but never carried out the plans to do so. Not sure I understand what you will do with this project but i bet it was interesting to make. " I have my Ovaltine all drank, Captain Midnight" Dick heppnerguy
  21. Wow extremely cool piece. Very clean looking and eye appealing. Congratulations on this well done project Dick heppnerguy
  22. Quite clever of you to think about making these. I sure hope they sell well as the cats will be instantly in love with them, should they be lucky enough to have an owner that purchases one from you Dick heppnerguy
  23. so cute I just might have to give these a go, myself some day Dick heppnerguy
  24. Congratulations on your anniversary and on the beautiful gift she is receiving on this special day. Dick heppnerguy
