Yep, @MarieC is correct about Washington being called the evergreen state.. But whomever named it that has never been to the part of Washington I live in.. I live in the everbrown part. Use to be very arid, very dry, sage brush and cheatgrass, Jack rabbits, lizards and rattlesnakes. The only part sorta green is the color we that have lived here all our lives glow do to the atomic reactors that were built and operated here since WWII. But we are changing do to all land is being taken up with vineyard. Yep, changing our climate for sure. So there you go, eliminate wine and save the planet! I'd rather drink wine and enjoy the change. You can search state colors and not get much of an answer. Seems odd, every state has a state bird, state flower. Why not a state color? But back to the point, they are all nice, but I like the blue background the best. It just is prettier to me. More cheerful and I think you can pick the colors, most people would not have a clue about state color, state flower or state bird.

I love those. Probably should try some. I ordered plans to a Model A a few weeks ago, a I think maybe little over my level. But I love those little guys!

I would be more curious if the right tension had different notes for different blades and different scroll saws. So many variables. I do pluck my blade every time I clamp one and before I turn the saw on, but I think I go more by the feel than the sound.

Nice cutting. There are some neat patterns at that site. I was looking at one or two and the only way I could figure out how to cut it would be to cut out the white and leave the black. I think most would take skill my or hands don't have any more.

You do not really need to buy Stewmac's real expensive plunge router base. You can purchase their cheaper stationary router base and convert it to a plunge base. Which I have, Couple springs and 4 nuts and you are good to go. Check out Rockytime's thread. He not only told me about this but insisted on sending me the few parts required to do it. That is the kind of guy Rockytime was, R.I.P. your are really missed by us that had the honor of knowing you on this forum. Now I am not the kind of guy that is going to send the parts but I am showing you how he did it!

Wait a minute, here, hold my beer! I was able to get the sub emblem without damage, and the rope.. Now it is sand and refinish, I'll see how that goes. Don't you dare drink my beer!

Well that clinches it. DO OVER! thanks for pointing that out. To be honest, I did not know. I thought about it briefly, but being a woodworker I picked the best looking side of that piece and put it outward. The other side had on little chip in it. No way I could remove it and replace it. I'm one of those dumb Marines,,, ,what do I know. Thanks for being a nitpicker, I know how proud this guy is of his service,, I want to do it right for him. Sad, I didn't like the finish I had on it so I cleaned it up and sprayed with my favorite finish,, I looked much better to me.

That cutting of the Motorcycle is definitely a lesson in precision cutting. Beautiful job. The puppy, very well cut also. But wow that bike looks like it is coming right out of the picture. Not to be argumentative, well , maybe a little, but of the blades I have the 3/0 is a little smaller than than the 2/0 and not as brittle, does not break as easy. But I like and use them both.

I've cut many 3D pieces and am still amazed everything I take the block apart and there is the part I wanted. You have a good idea here.

More I look at this the more I think the backer is too dark. I was more happy with it before I applied the finish, I tried a different, to me, finish. I used Varathane, Spar Urethane, because I am low on DEFT satin or flat. Should have stuck with my most favorite.. I may just have to do the whole thing again! Made other mistakes that kinda what me to redo the whole thing. It happens, never too old to learn.
