  1. very nice! The old lion looks like he is pleased also!
  2. Great, great job!! First time I watched a show where I rooted for the bad guys for the 3/4's of the series... Had great acting, great writers, and you did a great job!
  3. Great picture!
  4. You do not really need to buy Stewmac's real expensive plunge router base. You can purchase their cheaper stationary router base and convert it to a plunge base. Which I have, Couple springs and 4 nuts and you are good to go. Check out Rockytime's thread. He not only told me about this but insisted on sending me the few parts required to do it. That is the kind of guy Rockytime was, R.I.P. your are really missed by us that had the honor of knowing you on this forum. Now I am not the kind of guy that is going to send the parts but I am showing you how he did it!
  5. Glad to have you move into the village. Great place to learn, make friends and have fun.
  6. Another great one for your collection!
  7. Nice cutting. Not the easiest to cut especially when small!
  8. okay got things turned around and refinished. Thanks again to @RabidAlien for pointing out my error. That is what makes this forum so great!
  9. Great job!
  10. But I have never figured out what to so with the parts I have left over!

  12. Wait a minute, here, hold my beer! I was able to get the sub emblem without damage, and the rope.. Now it is sand and refinish, I'll see how that goes. Don't you dare drink my beer!
  13. Well that clinches it. DO OVER! thanks for pointing that out. To be honest, I did not know. I thought about it briefly, but being a woodworker I picked the best looking side of that piece and put it outward. The other side had on little chip in it. No way I could remove it and replace it. I'm one of those dumb Marines,,, ,what do I know. Thanks for being a nitpicker, I know how proud this guy is of his service,, I want to do it right for him. Sad, I didn't like the finish I had on it so I cleaned it up and sprayed with my favorite finish,, I looked much better to me.
  14. Great tribute to a good dog.
  15. Congrats on the new saw. So many new saws lately,, Makes me want to have a second saw again.
  16. That cutting of the Motorcycle is definitely a lesson in precision cutting. Beautiful job. The puppy, very well cut also. But wow that bike looks like it is coming right out of the picture. Not to be argumentative, well , maybe a little, but of the blades I have the 3/0 is a little smaller than than the 2/0 and not as brittle, does not break as easy. But I like and use them both.
  17. I've cut many 3D pieces and am still amazed everything I take the block apart and there is the part I wanted. You have a good idea here.
  18. More I look at this the more I think the backer is too dark. I was more happy with it before I applied the finish, I tried a different, to me, finish. I used Varathane, Spar Urethane, because I am low on DEFT satin or flat. Should have stuck with my most favorite.. I may just have to do the whole thing again! Made other mistakes that kinda what me to redo the whole thing. It happens, never too old to learn.
  19. Yes thanks for taking the time to give instructions and tips. I want to try some eventually, I have worked with epoxy both in boat build and pen making. But this is totally different. Got any good tips like good, better and best of epoxy and coloring agent? Posts like yours are what makes this forum so great. You info needs to go to the Village University so they do not get lost.
  20. Well it will be finished when the finish dries. I met a young man a few months ago, that was a Navy Submariner. First submarine person I have ever met. I made him a military plaque and added the submariner emblem to it. Anxious to give it to him.
  21. Yep.. and I know just the little girl I would love to make that for.. She is really a horse person. Doing the jumping. Scene now. A few Years ago I made this picture for her when she first started.. She was thrilled! Guess she is not a little girl now, she must be 12. Good friend of my Daughters.. I get video every once in a while of her jumping events.
  22. This pattern and some others came from here: https://lsirish.com/woodcarving-tutorials/woodcarving-projects/welsh-love-spoons/welsh-love-spoons-introduction/ If you do wood burning or carving, this is a great site.
  23. Yep. I just remembered I posted patterns yesterday or the day before and on had grapes.
  24. Welcome to the the HEGNER world. Be patient, if you have any questions do not hesitate to call Advance Machinery and ask. I had problems when I first bought mine, Breaking blade, They did not give up on helping me. Truthfully, I was ready to give up on mine but one day it all fell into place. I have owned Craftsman saws, TheDewalt, Exvalibur, and Seyco. All but the craftsman were great saw, but the Hegner is "my saw". fits me right. I will not part with it as long as I can scroll.. I may buy a second saw, but I will not part with my Hegner. And Congratulations. Great choice.
  25. Another great one.. I swear I am going to try this.. I have added many patterns to my catalog. I want to do one for my neighbors that have a winery. It will have grapes on it. Might be worth a bottle.
