  1. Yup, Lots of bacon. We use a brown sugar/black pepper dry brine first. Leave it sit for 7 - 10 days, then smoke for a few hours. Dry overnight and slice. There will also be Italian sausage meat and jalapeno/cheddar smokies made.
  2. I have a friend whose daughter-in-law raises pigs for butchering. Butcher day is the 18th when we will be getting our half. Thought I would do a quick project for her. I used some leftover cedar from our front deck. Finish is beeswax/mineral oil blend
  3. Sorry you have having troubles with the order. I placed an order with KJP on Sept 13th. They took a week to get it ready, which was probably because I ordered on the day of their open house. Received the order 4 days later. I would suggest the hold up is customs.
  4. Very nicely done.
  5. My table saw is somewhere in the crevices of my garage. I don't remember the last time I used it. I use my scroll saw to rip the small pieces. I have also taped them to a larger/longer piece of wood to have a firmer grip on the piece.
  6. Now complete. Thanks to all the comments in the WiP page. I ended up using a dowel and CA glue to mount on the driftwood. Thanks @prepriusfor the suggestion. I didn't see it until this morning. Woods include Walnut, Wenge, Zebrawood, Eucalyptus, Aspen, Orange Osage, Elm, White Limba, Birch, Spanish Cedar, Cherry, Jatoba. Pattern designer is Lora Irish. Pattern was modified by Jerry Blair.
  7. Looks great.
  8. Looks great Jerry.
  9. I have used a MG#5 to cut some purple heart. They were smaller pieces and curved lines.
  10. nice
  11. Another lovely piece Frank.
  12. Love the daggers. What a great gift to the guests.
  13. Very nice.
  14. Those are great. Easy enough to make different sizes.
  15. I got a sample pack of TruFlat, in multiple colours, from KJP Hardwoods (in Ontario). My niece picked it up for me - she lives in Ottawa. I haven't actually cut anything yet with it.
  16. Thank your wife as well, please
  17. Lovely Frank.
  18. All done. Friend is picking it up tonight. See the progress in the works in progress forum.
  19. Glad you got your plans. I was also surprised at how big they actually are. I didn't read the sizes on the patterns when I ordered. I took them to a commercial location to have them scanned to a USB stick. Save the original. Now you can get copies printed at anytime. ps - it is okay to start a new thread for new projects. I have skipped over your stuff thinking it is an old thread. Just realized that you keep adding on to the original.
  20. Welcome. I have no new information to add. Pretty much everything has been covered. If you find you need to sand after then you could use a coffee filter to run over the edges. I have also used a toothbrush to remove fuzzies.
  21. Stunning.
  22. After reading Frank's comment, I had to go back and read it 3 more times. Funny what the brain sees.
  23. Looking good. Your projects are always amazing. Sorry about the diagnosis. Hopefully it is a very slow progression so you can keep on producing your art.
  24. Mine seems to be at the bottom. I defaults to "SVG" files. Can choose from lots of file types.
