  3. Hey Jim, welcome to the Village! Yup, lots of familiar folks here. I'm a member of two other sites, but call the village my home. Come on in and join the fun!
  4. Excellent work Dave!
  5. Nice work there!
  6. That's a nice project!
  7. Tension, tension, tension!!! In my opinion, you can never have enough tension!
  8. Nice work!
  9. rDave, chances are you have African Mahogany, which is very grainy. It can leave rough edges. I prefer genuine Honduras Mahogany. It will leave a very smooth, almost shiny cut edge with absolutely no sanding necessary. I use mainly hardwoods like genuine Mahogany, Cherry, Maple, Red Oak, and Maple. I also use Sapele, which is a good substitute for genuine Mahogany. All of these woods mentioned will leave very smooth cut edges. I do use Baltic birch plywood for portraits and such.

  20. I have two that come from sloan's. They have a thin long stem that chucks into any drill press Chuck. These stems tend to bend so I chuck the hole body into drill press Chuck. My drill bits run true without any wobble. I have tried others from Mike's Workshop and the big box stores, but they all tend to wobble. I keep each loaded with a different size drill bit so I don't have to keep switching bits. Works for me!
  21. Nice work Denny and nicely framed!
  22. I've tried that before, but found it isn't always the same. FD Ultra Reverse blades have a small indent to mark the top, but all other blades don't. Try using your thumb nail to feel the teeth direction. It's worked for me for twenty years!
  23. Looks like you'll be back in no time Kevin! Congratulations!
  24. Nice work Peter! Keep practicing!
  25. Excellent work Al !
