  1. Thanks Jim.
  2. Thanks Jim. It took a while to complete, but worth it.
  3. Very clean cutting. I too like the background.
  4. Thanks Paul. I hate hand sanding too. I have machines that help. My go to for flat surfaces is the Sand Flee. I also used a flex drum sander and some hand sanding.
  5. Everyone has great ideas. Jay, you would have to enlarge it quite a bit to fit your ideas.
  6. Thanks all for the comments. Dave, using the green felt cuts back on the sanding.
  7. Thanks Dan. Bloodwood and Red Oak contrast well.
  8. Thanks Larry. You can do it.
  9. Thanks Ron. I used 50% BLO and Mineral Spirits with two spray coats of Shellac.
  10. Thanks Steve. I also saw your comment on the other site. Thanks again.
  11. Thanks Kevin. Not sure about box guys rule, but they are fun once completed.
  12. Thanks, Steve. Dried flowers it is.
  13. Well done, Edward. The colors really add to the presentation.
  14. Very nice Alex. As a twins fan, I hope the Tigers lose the next two games.
  15. Thanks Paul. I did spend a lot of time on this one.
  16. Thanks, DW. I also saw your post on the other forum. Did you make any other boxes of Gary's designs?
  17. Thanks Tony. I used the green felt to hide the flaws that I could not sand.
  18. Thanks Tony. Not even sure how to display it. Right now it is just hanging on the lattice backdrop.
  19. I made this on Monday, May 16th, while the other project was drying. This Wall Pocket was designed by Sue Mey and purchased from her site. I used 1/8" Walnut and two pieces of 3/4" Aspen glued together for the sides. It measure 7 1/2" high and 1 3/4" deep. Sue suggest using Air Plants, but there are other uses. My wife, Dianne suggests dried flowers. Comments welcome.
  20. This project took several weeks of Sundays and Mondays to complete. The pattern is by Gary MacKay and found in his book 'Box Making Projects for the Scroll Saw. I used Red Oak and Bloodwood. It measures 6" wide x 5" high x 3 1/2" deep. There was a lot of cutting, gluing, and sanding on this project. Comments welcome.
  21. Sorry you missed it Kevin. Maybe next time.
  22. Thanks all for the comments.
  23. If anyone receives Sue Mey's Newsletter, today several of my projects of her design were listed. What an honor.
  24. To add, I use both 1/8" and 1/4". As a framer, I have access to free mat board which I use as a backer, almost always black.
  25. Sorry I missed the show this year. Maybe next year.
