  1. One year, I had the fan blade on our vacuum disintegrate in the middle of the living room about 8 pm on Mother's Day Saturday. What a mess! So, both of us took off for Walmart to get a new one to clean the mess. (Parts of the fan store the bag). The cashier made some kind of remark about it being a poor gift and my wife set her straight on that. Only time I ever bought a household appliance near a major holiday.
  2. Great coloring to add some snap to the cuttings.
  3. Missed this earlier this week, but love the concept and execution.
  4. Wow! Big changes in five years. Congrats.
  5. Les: I have a line gauge that looks very similar. Mine is 18" and I use it all the time. Traded some darkroom time for my gauge after I had left the paper, but they asked me back to do a special one off job.
  6. I am the same way. Even though I had Pegas clamps on Old Yeller, there was/is adjustment to the new clamps. Threads seem to be tighter making them a bit harder to turn.
  7. Making my first 3d sign for my son's wedding. This is few of the 1/2" poplar letter I have cut on my new Pegas saw with #3MGT Pegas blades. These will be painted high gloss black and glued to a weathered oak panel. Big thanks to @Denny Knappenfor getting me in line to get a saw during the winter. The quarter is for sizing.
  8. Blood wood is tough. Only thing I've cut harder was Brazilian Cherry. Like cutting concrete. Beautiful momento for someone.
  9. I have been a member over the magazine board for a long time and endured the software issues and that was when I discovered SSV. I am active on both boards and there is some crossover between the two. On the magazine board, it is a much smaller crowd these days, but there is still a good number of "guests" shown. Don't have anyway to tell if they are scrollers or search engine spiders. Probably the same with the "guests" showing up here. I've made friends on this forum, just like the other one. I am also registered at Steve Good's forum, but totally inactive. I come for ideas, to see what others are doing, the jokes, and plenty of back and forth. Just checked, I joined February 2016.
  10. I also vote for the French cleat. Not self leveling like wire, but very secure.
  11. I am sure the family thanks you and I appreciate the humanity in your gesture.
  12. Just looked, my keyboard is missing the undelete key as well. Go soothe yourself with a rib eye and an adult beverage. You deserve it.
  13. Love the clean simplicity of it.
  14. As a former resident of Cols, a big old warm welcome.
  15. Welcome back. Like the others, I am truly sorry to hear of the loss, but we are family here and will be with you throughout.
  16. I ordered one from Denny last week and he indicated it might be late Feb to mid March before they got on dry land.
  17. Just like your cutting, it seems the geometry was right on. Very interesting project and beautiful.
  18. Don't know what is better--the cutting or the finish. Both are top shelf.
  19. First--beautiful work. And I have some Unicorn Spit that I used for some ornaments and it is great stuff.
  20. I just ordered a saw this week and Denny said it might be mid-March before they got off the boat and on the delivery schedule. As long it is here when I retire in late April, I'm good.
  21. I will share my Instagram post from May 2019 about a mother robin. I am attaching a screen shot, but basically--she was driving me out of my backyard.
  22. I have made a few for others, but never one for me. I guess the cobbler's kids really do go barefoot. If I ever set up a base, I will make one. I have some ancient cherry that will work great. I did do one recently for someone who was trying to get an old radio back on the air for me.
  23. Get some aluminum flashing in the roofing section. Not as cheap, but also not curled.
  24. Not a huge fan of their music, but a big fan of the portrait.
  25. Another General operator who tries to split scrolling and radio. Right now, the saw is winning.
