  1. I would still use the spray glue but to keep the mess down save your printer paper. I use a bigger piece of card board then put a used piece of printer paper on that and throw it away when finished. As for the expense don't worry you have plenty on money.
  2. """ I have put a little over $200 in this saw and can't afford any more. """ After putting $200 in it I don't see how you can not fix it.
  3. Brett you will have to figure what is comfortable with you. Just about all the cutting I do is at 75% but I haven't cut anything thing yet that is under 1/4" thick. Also there is a speed that is just above 50% that my saw vibrates so I don't cut at that speed. If I had to give you a ball park on speed I would say 75%.
  4. If where you live is like it is here very few good scroll saws come up for sale. I bet it don't last long.
  5. Doug great work and I love this holiday ( Independence Day ). It brings most Americans together.
  6. Larry that looks like the same chuck that is on mine.
  7. Brett that is a good question and I bet you have some good answers. When you finish this project post a picture. I really like stuff like this.
  8. I use a Dremel rotary tool and this plunge base. https://www.amazon.com/Dremel-335-01-Plunge-Router-Attachment/dp/B0000DEZK4/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1498776811&sr=8-1&keywords=dremel+plunge+router+base
  9. Hey I am already jealous.
  10. I heard that after harvest they go on vacation for about a month so it may be 4 or 5 more weeks.
  11. Marge you will have to recall all your puzzles and check them. This is very serious.
  12. Melaine I also use a plastic container and a bigger metal cake pan. You can get either of them at Wally World or Kroger. I take my puzzles apart and dip them in natural Watco Danish oil. I then put the puzzle in the Danish oil and let it soak for about 10 minutes or so. The time you let it soak isn't all that important. I then put the puzzle on a rack and let it drip dry usually over night. I made the drip rack about 14" wide and 20" long. Again how long and wide you make it isn't rocket science. I use rabbit wire and just attach it to a frame made of 1" square wood. I also put a piece of freezer paper under the frame to catch the drippings. If the freezer paper isn't to bad I wipe it off and save it for next time.. Don't forget to pore all the danish oil back in the original container and save it for next time. This is what I do and other people do it different and their way is good also. Just do what you like or try several ways and pick what works for you.
  13. Sam what do you mean off center? I am kinda thinking you mean run out. If it's run out I agree with the other about getting another chuck. They really don't cost that much. I also have a Central Machinery drill press and I have had it for about 7 years and so far so good. I bought it used on CL.
  14. I agree Iggy popular is great for your animals. I have had some popular in my shop for well over a year and have not touched it. Don't ask me why cause I don't know. Figure that out. Those look great, just keep going as time is slipping away.
  15. Jerry I didn't know about the 2 hour window. More than likely I didn't read the instructions. I can't believe that.
  16. """I'll be just about done stockpiling""" Ahhh! The new saw will give you the incentive to cut more. This isn't the last sale your going to. We hope.
  17. I would like one at that price.
  18. Sorry about that Dan. The only thing I can advise you to do is watch this video again.
  19. I have often wondered if it's difficult to cool a house when the temperature is that high. I feel it would be hard to cool a house here if it got to 111*.
  20. All magazines seem to disappoint me and most of them struggle to stay in business.
  21. This is a Popular post.
  22. I forgot who it was but they posted a few days ago about getting a new Jet saw. Of coarse there is always You Tube. If you are going to spend that kind of money you need to look at a new Hawk. I am trying my best to resist buying one as I have an EX16 which is pretty nice. You know how it is we want bigger and better.
  23. I went to a pain doctor about my Neuropathy yesterday myself. I have not been to a pain doctor before and I hope she can help me. If nothing else she was nice looking and that helped the pain for a while. I know I am a dirty old man.
  24. Oak would stain alright but it is an open grained wood you might not like that or you might like it okay. What I would do is get wood that you have on hand or you want to buy and test the different wood with the stain you want to use. Straight grained pine is another wood you might test. Although pine is a wood that doesn't stain well a small piece might work. Testing is something I do a lot, weather it's stain or finish. Something you might find helpful in the future is to use mineral spirits on a piece of wood your thinking about putting a clear finish on. Just get a rag wet and wipe it on and you will see how nice it will look. Let us know how you come out or if you have more question just ask.
  25. John that is a great idea.
