  1. Charley I will be 75 next month and I almost to the place where I can't do much of anything, I have advanced neuropathy in my feet and legs and the pain is really bad. For you to be able to do what you did with that tree is outstanding and I am glad your still going strong. I love reading your post here and on the Router Forum and I learn something from each post. Thanks!
  2. Hmmm! I admit I don't think I will cut any more white oak but I have no problem with red oak. Charley I really like that cross.
  3. I give every thing I make away so I don't need to worry about all that stuff. Another thing about giving things away is you don't have any trouble getting rid of it. I will say I am a little jealous of you guys that sell your projects.
  4. I just got through sawing a very simple cat puzzle of 3/4" white oak. I used a #3 Pegas blade and went really, really slow and still it's tight. It's not so tight that a little sanding won't fix it. If I ever white oak again I will use a #5 or #7 blade. I have cut quite a few puzzles with a #3 blade and never a problem but white oak is hard, real hard.
  5. For drill bits I buy them here. They don't mined small orders. https://drillsandcutters.com/
  6. Kevin "CharleyL" has a great wealth of knowledge. He has helped me several times on the "Router Forum" as well as others. I really wish he was my next door neighbor.
  7. Good idea Tony. I will have to try that. I already have some shelf paper.
  8. For those that say they aren't to mechanically inclined I think if you can do scroll saw work you can work on your saws. It's all about taking your time and doing it right.
  9. Doug as my dad used to say "you are eating high off the hog". I just know your going to like it.
  10. Good job Jim. Just because they break don'y mean they are trash. Now you have one good as new and more than likely better. PS I think if I bought a new DW788 I would tear it down and fix it with better parts.
  11. I see we have mixed opinions about the EX's dust collection. I am on the don't like it side and took it off soon after getting my saw. It was also to loud.
  12. Here you go Kevin. I am not sorry about the bad photos because it's the best I could do.
  13. At least I got some thing done around the house.
  14. Miss Katie I would have never dreamed a scroll saw would cut that. I am cutting felt for 4" circles and went and bought a roller wheel but I didn't like that. I went back to my razor knife and did okay. I cut a pattern a little less than the 4" base then used the razor knife to cut around the pattern. If your using the roller wheel to cut a straight line it works great but for me the small circles is not a good idea.
  15. John I do not use sticky back felt. I used it one time and it didn't come out good.
  16. Berry what you suggested is what I was thinking about. I wasn't thinking about the rotary cutter. Thanks
  17. I have made 30 crosses and 21 of them are going to the Sunday school class at church. The base is 4" across and I need to cut felt for the bottoms. Being that there is so many what would be the fastest way to cut them?
  18. Iggy I really like that. It's a great anniversary cutting.
  19. Iggy are you going to cut a special edition puzzle for your one year anniversary? That sounds like a good idea to me. What ya think?
  20. I would use Aleenes or Weldbond and very little. No Tite Bond at all. It's agreat glue but any squeeze out you miss will show up later. This is a little box not a casket. I do recommend keeping all the glues mentioned so far in your shop.
  21. Thanks Todd.
  22. Todd I really like what you did. I do have a question. Are you saying you cut the wolf, eagle, and lettering in 1/4" birch and then painted the 1/2" ply backer black? I want to make a simular sign is the reason I am asking.
  23. John a picture says a thousand words.
  24. Very nice card Scott. Every little bit helps.
