  1. Bill I was going to say that. I am always behind and a dollar short.
  2. Brett what your wanting to cut is what a scroll saw is made for. I think a more important question might be what blade you should use. Why not post what blades you have and we will go from there. I do agree with Jerry about using backer boards. They will help but not necessary. I other words it's not a must have. Mean while try practicing cutting with and without a backer board. Don't expect to jump in there and cut this like a pro. I have been cutting for about a year and have such a long way to go. Get back with us soon.
  3. Melaine I remember that also. It would have been hearder then than now but if we had switched it would have been over by now.
  4. Dan I am getting more responses since I posted that. I have read all of the post including yours and have learned something from all of them. As with most things there are a lot of good ways to do the same thing and I wanted to learn as much as I could. As far as ((Likes)) I really don't do that very much. It's not because I don't like them it's because I just don't think about it. I do more quoting a post rather than liking a post. You also said I should ask more specific questions. It's hard to do that when you don't know what anything about it.
  5. I will have to agree with that.
  6. Thanks Christian; I have all of Steve Goods patterns but I have not seen the book. I also haven't seen the video on YT so you really helped a lot.
  7. Thanks Joe. i ordered the book on Amazon. It didn't cost much and it might be helpful.
  8. I don't know why we haven't switched to the metric system.
  9. Thanks for the advice guys. It helps a lot. I am beginning to understand puzzle cutting a little better.
  10. I am not getting very many replies to my question. Cutting Jigsaw puzzles must not be very popular. I think I can see why because the only reason I wanted to cut one is to do something for a friend that has done so much for me.
  11. Richard it's so nice to upgrade to such a nice saw. I think while your other saw will saw this one will do it so much easier and it will be a joy to use. I do have a question. Did you look into getting a saw like one of the new Hawks and if so why did you choose the Seyco over the Hawk or a Hegner? I do believe the Seyco is among the top scroll saws made.
  12. Thanks Edward and a happy fathers day to you and everyone here on this forum.
  13. A friend of mines wife like puzzles and I want to make her one if (big if} I can. I want the type of puzzles that is about 1/8" thick not the 3/4" puzzles that I make. I would like a puzzle that maybe is about 100 pieces more or less. Another thing is I know she like cats. I am not talking about someone making me a pattern. I am very happy to buy one. I also need to know how I need to go about cutting this type of puzzle. If you need more information just ask as I don't know what to ask. PS- Being it is my first puzzle to cut I guess I don't need one that is to completed. Am I asking to much???
  14. I am not an electrician but I don't understand why you shouldn't do that. I to would like to know the answer.
  15. Great work Dan, I know your wife is happy. A question about all those keys. Do you own a car lot?
  16. It cost less than $6 to try the shelf paper. I really do think you should try it. You will never go back to painters taPE. https://grocery.walmart.com/product/3000332729
  17. You can buy a heat gun at Harbor Freight for $8. I have been using one for about 5 years,
  18. So when did they start making the lasted model Hawk? I guess that would would be the BM model.
  19. John I have been having the same problem as you but not as bad. I have been using a peel and stick clear shelf paper instead of tape and like it way better. It is also cheaper in addition to being better. When this can of adhesive is empty I am going to try 3M adhesive. https://grocery.walmart.com/product/3000332729
  20. Iggy I am so jealous. Ever since you started this thread I have been looking online at Hawk's and Hegners. I am really wanting a Hawk but I don't need it.
  21. Chris it depends. Do you stand or do you sit? How tall are you and if you sit how high is your chair? Also I like the back of the saw to be higher than the front. There is more to it than you might think. I would say just play with it and you will fined what suites you best.
  22. Dick I hope every thing goes well. When you get back online post a picture of your new house. I bet it's nice.
  23. The knobs look nice but I am afraid I would tighten them to much.. Tightening the clamps to much is the prime reason the clamps have to be replaced. I am the worlds worst at getting things to tight.
  24. Dan did you price the bearings that they talked about on this You Tube video?
  25. Lee Valley has a big big assortment of hangers. It's also a great place to shop for wood working.
