  1. Great job. Reminds me of Treebeard from Lord Of The Rings.
  2. Had a good time cutting this portrait of Doc Adams from Gunsmoke. Pattern by @lawson56. 1/2" Red oak. About 5" X 7". When I'm cutting a portrait I usually take a picture of the back side after cutting the eyes, nose and mouth and post it on Facebook to see if anyone can guess who it is. Usually only have maybe one correct guess. Most everybody got this one right. Doc has some recognizable eyes.
  3. Welcome to SSV. Lots of knowledgeable, helpful folks here.
  4. Great job Dave. Taking the sometimes less than desirable edge of plywood and making it into something beautiful is awesome. I love the hinge too.
  5. My wife spotted a sign she liked at Kirkland's Home but it wasn't the right size to fit so I did a scroll saw version that turned out pretty cool. Happy wife, happy life. And the sign is true.
  6. Your talent is amazing. Love seeing your work!
  7. Thanks to @Kris Martinson for a great pattern. I tweaked it a bit. My son is a big Bob Dylan fan so it's going to him. The wood is 3/8" White Oak and the backer is Monkey Pod. It's about 6" X 8".
  8. Great piece. Wonder if Basset Hounds look so sad because they're stuck with those ears.
  9. Nice job. Love the little keychains!
  10. I love it Les! Makes me feel happy and peaceful. The grain on the wood works well with that picture.
  11. Posting this mostly to show off a cool pattern in the library by @lawson56. Nice job Bobby. I love the minimalist patterns! Cut in some air dried Red Oak with sawmill lumber backer. Love some Johnny Cash music! He'll live next to Willie and Merle on my shop wall.
  12. Much cuter than mine Don. I'm headed out to move mine now. I move it around the yard so the neighborhood kids will have to hunt for it. I love seeing families stop and look while on walks.
  13. Gorgeous! Wonderful job!
  14. Beautiful!
  15. Fun to look at. Great job!
  16. Beautiful pieces. I'm sure the veterans love looking at them. Thanks.
  17. Beautiful job on those Paul. Thank you and your family.
  18. I may cut the arm bump stop when the warranty is up though it's not much of an issue when removing the blade to thread it. I'm sure most users of the same saw do at least one thing different than everyone else.
  19. Over the past few projects I've done I've changed the way I feed blades from bottom feeding to just releasing the top clamp and popping the bottom clamp out of the holder, threading the blade through, then putting the piece back on the table putting the bottom clamp back in place then connecting the top. It actually saves me time over bottom feeding and I don't bend blades poking around trying to find the hole. I just wondered if any other Hegner users do this. All the disks in my neck have been fused so it's also much easier on my neck not having to try and look under the piece to find the hole. For me this solved the only thing I didn't like about my saw, the limited amount of space to bottom feed.
  20. That's like a 5 star bird restaurant! Better get gourmet bird seed. Nice job!
  21. Yep. They announced today Alabama schools will be closed for the year. My 5 year old grandson was sad as he loves his teacher and has fun at school. I'd really only thought about how sad it is for seniors. Also sad for so many kids in bad homes where school is at least time away from that.
  22. I live in a neighborhood with quite a few walkers and cyclers, many with children. My daughter and her family live on our street and they taped these flyers to mailboxes today. One thing I love about woodworking is how so many things, like this one, are an excuse to go out to the shop and make something. Also love the sense of community of this idea, even if we're isolated.
  23. I love This Is Us Barb! Actually it's the only show I'm addicted to. If you didn't see it I posted a link above where Graham Nash, the writer of the song basically tells the story Rebecca tells on that episode.
  24. That's it. I added the music notes and flower after I made the pattern.
  25. I put this pattern in the library if anyone's interested. I added a couple of things afterward before cutting it. Is anyone familiar enough with the song to notice a couple of symbolic things I included?
