  1. Welcome from me too. This is a lovely place to be
  2. My husband,Tony, finds a tremendous difference when the air pressure changes. He finds having background noise on helps a bit. But I find it really sad when, if I ask him what he'd like for birthday/Christmas, he quite often says ''An off switch''
  3. Nice piece, well done. Now that's a 'southern accent' if ever I heard one. Us up here oop norf are harder to comprehend
  4. Thank you Paul. I've been scrolling for about 6mths and I always think ''I could have done better'' but overall I'm pleased with these pieces. So your kind words are much appreciated. xx
  5. I made these today at the request of my daughter. Many thanks to @bobscroll for the named ornament pattern, even more thanks to @rdatelle for letting me copy and put my own names on what was essentially a pattern made for him. The xmas trees I'm not sure where I found them, and the 'dog' one I made myself.
  6. Wow, I never knew you could do something that size on a scrollsaw.
  7. I have the foam ear plugs and I put my hubbys ear defenders on as well. He has severe tinnitus since a viral infection 20yrs ago so I know how vital protection is.
  8. Whoo Hoo, that looks brilliant. Well cut. I've never cut anything like that. Will look great with a finish. Don't forget to show us.
  9. Stunning, I'm sure she'll be over the moon with it. x
  10. That looks so pretty.
  11. Wow, lucky you. That lot will keep you going for a while xx
  12. What a lovely pattern, nice cutting too.
  13. Aww, what a lovely thought. I wish I had kind neighbours like you. (actually I don't have any neighbours but you know what I mean)
  14. I don't wish to 'take over or intrude' on this thread, I'll post my problem elsewhere shortly. But thanks anyway, appreciate it. x
  15. Nice work. I've tried several times to cut 'thick' wood, but I aint good enough yet.
  16. Welcome to the forum. Nice place to be, enjoy x
  17. Welcome to the village, you'll learn a lot here, I know I do. Have you had a look at Inkscape ? I use it a lot. There's also Gimp, but I don't know anything about that but no doubt someone will chip in about it.. Enjoy
  18. Welcome to the village, have fun.x
  19. They look really good. If you post my cookies this week they should get here by Xmas
  20. Thank you so much for sharing this. I've struggled all week trying to 'transfer' a picture onto wood with 'tracing paper', then I read this and 'Bingo' I had it done in minutes. Not only that I burned it this evening and I'm quite pleased with the result. I've put a pic in the 'Other Woodwork' forum. I couldn't have done it without your input. !!!
  21. but no-one can find it
  22. Lovely, I'm sure they'll be over the moon with that. 'Personal' presents are such a joy. xx
  23. I found this, don't know if it helps any but at least you know it was a SG pattern. And you know it was before Feb 2016, so should give a starting point.
  24. My new '3M' mask and filters. Seems to be comfortable on first try. Paid for by making two name plaques for hubby's friends. Wow, that means I'm starting to be 'self sufficient' Although I have been reminded that I still have the cost of my saw, blades, glue, wood to catch up on But for today I'm a happy bunny that doesn't have to breath in sawdust.
  25. Welcome to the village, it's a friendly place to be. Enjoy
