  2. I guess this was a good method to remind me and others. I follow this topic so I get a notification when someone posts. Yep I just went and waxed the table up.
  3. The enclosed closed trailer looks cool with the windstreaks (grain) . Look out hot wheels big rigs are in a convoy. Me. Mark Eason
  4. Ray since it is valentines day coming , I think you should give it a nice pink tint with pink shellac. Sorry , I just had to use circumstance of the holiday. Or . . . Wow where did you get that pink maple But really it does look nice. The wood should be sealed so it does not expand. The bowl might be used to hold hot biscuits , with a moist towel. So I would seal the wood.
  5. interesting a horse saddle stead of a horse (knight). Bocote is expensive, but elegant. Me. Mark Eason
  6. yes. The art part of this hobby allows us to change thickness of wood at our choice. I have taken part of patterns and used them on other pieces. Using thinner wood. Me. Mark Eason
  7. That looks really good. His face features are well done. The hat brim does not look well supported but gives the perfect look for the hat. Me. Mark Eason
  8. Olive wood is one of my favorites. Very nice box and hinge work.
  9. A note on blades get dull fast: Don't push the wood. Let the tiny teeth do the work. Really fast tight turns will dull blades fast. Thicknesses of blades: #1 blades will need to be tight. But a thicker blade #7 won't need to critically tight. You will find some #1 blades combinations of wood thickness act differently. Ex.. #1 with 1/4" might fine following the lines without twisting. But the same blade may act different with 1/8". I found a #00 blade worked better at 1/4" than it did with 1/8". Me. Mark Eason

  14. I thought I was the trouble maker. Asking stuff that the saw can't do. And expecting answers. Cutting 2 inch branches with tiny blades. That is just stupid. Also I have some off the cuff comments that might be not helpfull. I will miss Wichmans projects. I love getting inspiration from his pictures and posts. The creativity in this village is great. I love this site. I see newbies ideas and projects. I feel I have not put in the effort of replying to posting recently. I think I need some sunshine or something just not motivated. I can't think of new ideas. No progress just sucks.
  15. I see your doing all kinds of scrollsaw categories. Cute idea to use the pine cookie.
  16. success !!!! Looks really good. colored Plexiglass will be cheaper in the long run. The store I bought the water clear resin has scraps of plexiglass for $1. A half liter of polyester resin was $25. I will do scraps before I do resin again. Me. Mark Eason
  17. super nice. Great contrast of cut to maple. You left ample room around the center to show off the burl grain. great job.
  18. I see what cured his flu. It was the finishing of the wood with hand rubbed seasoning and assorted hot sauces. This is a nice bowl I love the grain.
  19. My favorite is my wearable wooden cowboy hat. But since I did not make any new hats last year. I will have to go with what I have made. Just finished. An appreciation award for the project lead at work. Wood is Pepperwood. The circle in the middle is a silicon wafer. The 2 circles are silicon die, little squares cut from wafers. "Pepperdine" was the project code name so I had to find pepperwood. I used relief angle cuts to make his name protrude from the surface. Wood stain was called Colonial, a darkish brown. I wanted a darker frame around a shiny center. Wood finish is "Arm R Seal". I used a polyester resin water clear to pour over the wafer material circles. Henry had 2 direct engineers assigned to him. The 2 moons signify 2 Jr. guys. The TPL ring signifies Tecnical Product Lead. The ring has magnets to be able to remove it. It is made with 1/4" butternut wood.
  20. those are pretty nice.
  21. Nice write up. You included pictures and village people.
