  1. I had to calculate each ring for this hollow football. I had to look up math equations..tangent and arc tangent. I Used a calculator that had scientific trig functions. I don't recommend excel or similar. Best to use Dave angle tool. The easiest is what JTCLOCKMAN showed.
  2. when you "trace>bitmap" it puts a copy over the original. You can move one of them aside to make sure there is 2. When hilighted an "object property" will indicate a path , or a bitmap.
  3. I cut 2 more for the other office staff. This pic shows the tiny size. Learning note... A brand new blade can be dull. Stupid me forgot this and struggled for 20 mins.
  4. Here is some specifications for that engine... You might use something from this site for frame labels. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/GE_Dash_9-44CW
  5. Sliced chicken? Chicken Filet... Scrolled chicken. Puzzled Chicken. Chicken tastes like wood. Glazed shellaced Chicken pieces.
  6. Yes, I agree with skip or double skip blades. I tried a Douglas Fir 2x2 using #5 MGR modified geometry, it did not do well. Changed to skip and then double skip#7.
  7. This is a beautiful box. I have seen yours before and asked questions. I feel my skills just are not up to your quality. I would just screw it somehow. For now I will pass. But wow it just looks so good.
  8. yep that would be great.
  9. Oh yea, that is funny. But I am up for suggestions. It might be a topic that needs email or personal messages.
  10. My cowboy hats are done on the weekends. Cutting the rings takes between 45 to 60 minutes each. I get about 2 rings complete then take a break. I pushed it to 3 rings once and my follow the line was not as good. The rings are about 0.12 inches between cuts. So concentration is key. Blades get dull about at 30 minutes. I don't stop for a break in the middle of cutting a ring. I will change blades as needed. 7 rings are total of about 7 hours of cutting. When just playing and get in a zone of trying techniques. I can play longer without breaks. The try this, oh try that attitude sometimes goes longer. Next thing I know the wife comes out and asks about dinner. I think huh lunch comes first. I love those moments oh this would be cool. So I go try. Those moments are about 4months apart. Me. Mark Eason
  11. lovely work. A great group of dog portraits.
  12. Scrollsaw only. The only glue I used is for bottom of drawers. Since I cut them at angles I really don't need glue.
  13. There is a small trend of doctors offices that like little trinkets. So I had a foot doctor visit today and made a foot drawer. This I guess is part of a micro drawer series? She the Dr. loved it. The nurse assistant liked it also. So I guess I need to make 4 more. Started with 2"x2"x12" which ends up at 1.5" x1.5" and it fits in 4.5" long. Wood type is Mrytle. Finish is Arm R Seal. She did not say how she is gonna use it. She says it will be on her desk.
  14. no CD either. Just use "spotify" phone app and get any song you want.
  15. Molly Hatchet...Wow great artwork. Did they look like that on stage? Did they have war horse in concert?
  16. Rechargeable batteries have a max number of cycles that should be charged. So keeping them equally cycled there is a technique. So a method of doing this is keep them in first in to first out stack. After recharging them put the battery in the top of the stack. Pull the out the bottom cell to be used next. No reason to count recharge cycles. The series of pictures show the stack in a different way. Heads is the round peg, tails is the square block. Take the next battery to be used next to the head, and move the head peg counter-clockwise to the next cell. When a freshly charge battery is ready, place it next to the tail and move the tail counter clockwise. My son wanted a first in first out stack. So I came up with this last night. I used scrap wood for a prototype. Shapes and sizes are up to the artist or customer. Me. Mark Eason
  17. Album covers are a great place to see cool artwork. Has anyone started a series for scrollsawing album covers ?
  18. You did not mention Cost as a concern or extra space it will take up. So go big.
  19. I love the brown one.
  20. I played chess by mail with my Dad. We used post cards in 1978. It took 9 months to play. I used table top. I should have had a wall mount. Good project. Well done.
  21. These do look fast and slick. Ready for takeoff !! I sorry. . . I just had a flash of improvement. Make and orange piece that velcros on the back of the engine. So the kids can turn on after burners. Me.Mark Eason
  22. Thanks for the update. We are ready for your next questions.
  23. looks nice and clean. The wood knots resemble potatos. One tractor is running over one.
  24. No critics this time. This has got to be your best project. Some how you turned on a big artist switch that makes things remarkable. Does seeing in person show the depth of the backer show up? The picture posted I can barely see the depth. The coloring overwhelms my senses. I can zoom in and I know and the black is the backer but wow. Note: 750 blade insertions is the big sit down time. Say half a minute per hole change. That is 375 minutes !!!!
