  1. Just sharing stupid little test "Tes" and practice piece. It is a mix between "people and pets" and compound cuts. I went to the chiropractor and thought I could practice on his character. People and pets.... is a pattern book that inspired me. A chiropractor sketch that inspired me. Back ache one one side . And front view on other side. Both Hand sketched on wood. Final cuts... Oops sorry I delivered it and forgot to get a finished picture. I dipped in Arm R Seal. It is setting on reception desk at Chiropractors office. He named him "Tes". He is a block head. I can make more of them and have a block party. Me. Mark Eason
  2. welcome to the village. I am from California. We have wide variety of artists here. Yep a great place to learn. I did and still do.
  3. nice looking bike. The fins on the cyclinder look nice and even. Good piece.
  4. An online mulitplayer game called Diablo 4 is being released soon. My son is playing pre release version now. Part of this game play has shrines. First pic shows a shrine from game. So this inpired me to try compound cuts again. I had 2x2 douglas fir to play with. I was struggling with pegas blades. I went up to #11 skip and still struggled. So I switched to polar #7. Polar started cutting ... yea. The top part it apears I cut inside the pattern left side and outside the line on the right side. I can see how it adds mystery to a game piece. But it is a total oops. This is the first time cutting Douglas Fir. At 1.75 inch thick, Now I know why they use it for contruction. 7 inches tall. Some more pics showing inside. I played with red "transtint" to give a Diablo feel. I still need to clear coat it with high gloss. I found a rechargable 9 volt battery on amazon for powering leds. Other than Diablo 4 game piece this can hold Gnomes inside. Me. Mark Eason
  5. That is a very nice looking horse. I don't mind the redish background at all. It seems to enhance the depth and angle of the pose. Looks good. If you like rodeo pics I just attended our local rodeo as a spectator. I have lot of pic to choose from.
  6. I definitely see Clint Eastwood. Nice scene, guys with guns. Good job.
  7. non painted wood for indoors: titebond 2 non painted wood outdoors: titebond3 painted/finished wood or smooth metal surfaces: baking soda and CA glue. I will try pencil lead powder and baking soda w/CA glueb if I want a dark looking joint. cement or porous surfaces: E6000 or E6800 2 Part epoxy is another glue I have at the ready.
  8. The dream catcher is already in action. The light portion of the wood (right side) looks like it caught some dream rays. Either that, or it is almost full. Filling from left to right. Nice piece of art.
  9. I like the eagle version because of the wood grain you chose. The face is pointing with the flow of the wind.
  10. That tree trunk lines really look good. I can almost see the texture of the bark. Has the feels of it being natural. I like it.
  11. very nice. The eagle backer was very well done with proper color. Just quick glance tells me something is missing. A flag pole or something hold the flag. But it is artists decision. It is fine the way it is, because all other aspects are very well done. Me. Matk Eason
  12. nice trio of pets. It was good that the dark dog was in the middle to give good balance of the picture and cutting. Good to here about your health is getting better. Me. Mark Eason
  13. It really looks like my first flinstone era car. If you subtract your age from your golf score you always win. "Over qualified".
  14. very nice. I like the inner frame. It has been a while (25 yrs) since I played chess. So Mate in 27 moves hah. White wins. I think this is a dangerous black opening. It is using opposite bishop pawn of the Sicilian defense. Opens up black kings diagonal. It is nice that you made extra queens. You might want to hang the board with the white square on the bottom right. Or just make the pieces play left and right instead of top / bottom.
  15. wow, are there 3 layers of spokes? Is each spoke is a separate piece? 5 rims and tires. I am totally impressed. I love the T top to show the interior. So it is truely a 1929 woody. Great job.
  16. If it was Mr. Ed there should be words coming out of the horses mouth.
  17. ooh nice looking pattern. Music is a good to induce creativity.
  18. What kind of material is the laces??
  19. Very good. I went from porter cable entry level to a used RBI Hawk. Cuts got a lot easier. I don't have to fight the tool. We await your pictures of future projects. Me. Mark Eason.
  20. i have always like Harry Chapin. Mr. Tanner is a great song. "Corey's comming" is also a nice story. 30,000 pounds of bananas. The name printed on the old album showed 300,000.
  21. Nice wall of cowboys. They all wear hats. You should make a wooden cowboy hat and hang on the wall. It does not have to be wearable. It could be same size of you portraits.
  22. Those saguaros can be a bit tight and intimidating. But go slow helps. Also #1 and 2/0 blades act different. Practice with both blades. Different thickness of wood changes techniques also.
  23. Welcome from California. We have a wide variety of artist here. Always friendly and helpful. This village helped me get started 2 years ago. I asked for help many times. Me. Mark Eason
  24. Very unique. I love the presentation, on a cookie sheet. Bogy creek monster was a movie that was popular when I was a teen.
  25. I only have account in 2 public forums. This village is my first. My 2nd which does astronomy. This village format is nice. I use the all activity to see most traffic. I like the list of forums, bragging rights and user gallery the most. The number of views and likes are pleasant to find. It is the people that make this a great place. The new ideas, artistry, and open mindedness. Super pleasant. Using the village gallery is a bit non obvious. A bit clunky. But it works. The 2nd forum, astronomy , forum is huge. Lots of forum categories, and lots of people. They use abrevievations that I have no clue what they are discussing. There is many many moderators, because there are so many posts. Mostly helpful people but some get confrontational. I signed up there almost a year ago. I learned some good techniques but the creativity is much lower. There is smart people but not many new topics. Most topics are highly specialized in software settings and procedures. Astrophotograhy is too detailed , I don't care about. But the visual forum is where I learn new techniques. The gallery is little used. Most photos are on external site that you can upload huge detailed pics. This village is home. I felt good about joining and feel good contributing. I hope my play with words is taken in a humorus way.
