  1. Double duty chair wore out. My wife surprised me with a new chair. She got the tall version to match the Hawk stand. . I use the chair for work from home. I moved my day job corporate computer in the garage so my indoor cats do not bother me. So I roll it to the scroll saw for double duty. Daily use wore out my old chair fast. I am 5'9 at 200 lb. We took the old one to upulstery shop they want >$200 just for materials. If they did it it would 4 month wait plus $labor. The new chair was delivered Monday night. I need it on lowest setting for scroll saw and 3 inches higher for work bench. here is a pic old vs new....
  2. love the bull rider frame. It rustic and fit the topic well.
  3. I noticed the white card stock that Pegas blades get shipped with would make a good white backer.
  4. Pointing the way down wind. Not only the sky shows wind the grass does also. The leather, feathers and horse mane all go down wind too. Perfectly chosen grain. Did that go next to the other post called buffalo? The buffalo should be on the left of this piece. Beautiful piece.
  5. It looks like you used an old tv tray.
  6. John, Your article is very clear and cover many things I was not aware of. Here is a link to wikipedia which has much less info that this article. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scroll_saw I am encouraging you to submit your article to them. I am not sure how. At least try to get a foot note for further reading. When did intarsia start?
  7. really nice. Beautiful work. So you got 2 pictures of same stage coach going and then coming back home. I choose the upper one for coming back home. Just because the sky has more clouds (grain) and is a bit darker. That photographer was pretty good of catching the same position of action both times. Especially with the old 1870's cameras. Well done. The 5412 cuts look very detailed.
  8. I like both. The american eagle is eye catching. The moon as background always is great. I do enjoy looking through a telescope at the moon stars and sky. Sometimes I see birds fly and block the moon. Probably owls. Anyway the feathers and eye cut details make the project so much better.
  9. Not scraps any more. Looks like good raffle items.
  10. did you notice no glue was used?
  11. My thought yesterday was just to order 4 or 5 of the same pattern. But he does not have a quantity column in the shopping cart. So I just ordered 5 patterns. The intent is to use Etsy as a tool to get him funds. Before work from home, I spend about $30.00 of gas each week for commuting. So I will use some of this saving to donate to his future. The first year of stay at home the hair stylist industry was stopped. No work. I donated my gas money to my wife's hairstylist until they were given the ok to work. She was so pleased. Me. 12. I had this cutting setting around for a while now. I was trying to find a home for it so I finally decided to paint it and use it as a refrigerator magnet. This was from an Alex Fox pattern that I made to have 1 layer and smaller. I also put the 45 deg angle on the outer edge. I found this difficult to do. Painting skills are poor. I had to mix colors to make pink and light blue hippie style. I wanted a grey military for the bottom text. Yellow green mixed to attempt spring green. Just winging it with paint scheme. Cheap hobby acrylic paint in tubes was used. Shrinking the design made cutting center of letters very narrow. 1/8 inch solid maple. Cut with 2/0 spiral Pegas. Outer edge was cut with MGT #1.
  13. Welcome to the village. Feel free to ask questions, complaints are ok also. Frustrations are usually solved with all the know how of the elders. One of the saying is "it did not happen without pictures". We like pics, and videos. Bragging rights area is fun to browse around in. We like to know wood type and usually we say blade type in our bragging rights area. But not needed. We like new ideas and techniques. So we are thirsty for your ideas and questions. Me. Mark Eason
  14. thank you for a detailed answer. that is exactly why i asked. I will use etsy unless there is a more direct way. That is a more of my donated money going to you.. before this posting I was questioning if the purchases were actually getting to you. Now I feel better purchasing your patterns. Me. Mark Eason.
  15. that is soo cool. A Chicago LP. 25 or 6 to 4.....
  16. I like your wands oops I mean sticks... The gem state has opals... Fire opals. Maybe a dragon fire opal stick would ward off dragons. Or attract dragon flies. Do you have return customer that collect your sticks?
  17. now those are some good signs and phrases.
  18. Alex: 1) Thanks for this note I did not here of your decision to go to a safe place. I am glad you survived. 2) This looks great. It shows your style of layers very well. 3) can you receive mail, blades, tools other equipment? If yes what do you need? Or want. How can we help? Me. Mark Eason
  19. Yep those bowls are cool. Love the yellowheart. Does make it stand out.
  20. I treasure my magnets from my late father. He had fun adding stuff around the house to make them more artsy.
  21. Just bit of humor and critic... It is fresh cut in Florida, beautiful pedals, and leaves. Not China. The wood is from baltics I think, not China. So the only complaint is the name. Florida roses look great. The brain adds branches to the existing branches. So the artwork does not get too detailed trying add more branches. Elegant.
  22. I hear the songs by Eagles. and ...when the sun goes down. by Kenny Chesney
  23. Update, I found some articles about white vinegar and lemon juice to clean aluminum. Cleaned my table up with that rinsed off the residue. Then applied Carnuba wax and after a few hours put on Johnson paste wax. I cut some BB ply and no oxidation on wood or my hands. After about 6 hours of cutting (3 day weekend), I applied another layer of wax. Thanks this is a great village.
  24. That is good enough to be showcased in Sedona. Or better yet your local art studio. Well done. Me. Mark Eason
  25. Dave, Did you already have a band saw? Do you use Pegas band saw so re-sawing? Is it a good time for detailed update? Me. Mark Eason
