I will start out, I have never understood Neil Diamond.

Remember Super Dave, that evil knievel type of guy who was a comedian?  I always though Neil Diamond was like and Elvis spoof.  It was like 2 years ago when I realized that people actually like the guy and he is supposed to be legit,. I just dont get him though.

Another one is Bob Dylan.  What is with that?  I used to have this loop of music at work and he had this terrible song that would alway play.  When it ended there were people clapping and I never understood why because to me it was horrid.

I was watching that show with captain scully where he lands that plane on the hudson river, when it landed people were clapping, then it all became clear.  They were not clapping because they experienced it, they were happy that it was over.  After that, I understood that Bob Dylan song.  They were clapping because it was over.

I'm weird too, I love the 50's and 60's music, and country - but even though I know the song and "sing" along with it,  I could not tell you who did it.  I either like it or not, and could care less who does it.

When soul music first hit the airwaves back in the late 60's, I liked some disliked others, then one day a DJ was explaining soul music and said the reason you like some and not other was the beat, the tempo.  made sense to me, and I notice today with country that is true for the most part too.

I'm a fan of 80's rock (Bon Jovi is still my fav), but not really the heavier stuff like Kiss or AC/DC.  Iron Maiden, I like their historical stuff, but not the rest.  And now I've just discovered a Swedish heavy-metal band, Sabaton, that is intriguing.  I think ALL of their songs are historical-themed.  Gotta love a band that covers the sinking of the Bismark (and can make "kreigsmarine" fit into the lyrics!).

Not a big country fan, but Johnny Horton (50's/60's?), I love his old historical ballads.  I think I learned more about the American Civil War from listening to one or two of his cassettes (dating myself) than I did from public school.

I Can't stand rap - it's not music, it may be an art form but it certainly isn't music. I can't stand hip hop either

I can't stand Katy Perry or what ever her name is - for that matter I'm not a fan of any so called music since the early 90's

I hate America's got talent and all the other so called "talent" shows - morelike "no talent" shows.

Oh and just to put a top on it - I CAN'T STAND BOY BANDS

Oh I've got a list and a half of these things!

Anything that is autotuned is offensive. That said, many of of today's "stars" would be out of business without computer manipulation.

And do current pop acts play instruments? Again computer generated music.

That said, I can barely play a radio, but have mixed sound for some pretty good amateur musicians.

Call me a old curmudgeon if you will, but give me musicians making music.

I loved Bob Dylan in the 60's but not any more.  I loved the Beatles in the 60's but not anymore.  For my 21st I wanted the Neil Diamond album Hot August night, I got it.  My eldest daughter wanted Neil Diamonds CD, Hot August Night for her 21st, guess she is a LOT like me.  We both still love Neil Diamond.
I particularly love Soul and Blues.

I don't know of any bands or artists that "everyone" loves.  Musical tastes are so individual that it's even worse than scrollers tastes in blades.  😉  😁

I've never been one that likes the same music as "everyone else".  My musical tastes are fairly narrow and I gravitate more toward stuff you don't hear on the radio every hour (for those who still listen to radio).  Even some of the stuff that I grew up listening to, I don't necessarily want to hear all the time, anymore.
