I recently had an eye injury. Nothing serious and mostly don't notice any problem. But, went to scroll today and I saw two sets of lines on the pattern where there was only one. I was luckily able to adjust the magnifier to get it where I could manage. Follow-up eye appointment is two weeks away. Oh well, I'll just do the best I can.

Was it REALLY an injury, or were you drinking?  😀 😀 😀

I had a detached retina decades ago.  Surgeries did not go well. Ended up with double vision. Corrected with a prism in each lens in the glasses.  Could only saw for "about" 2 hours or drive that long.  Takes lots of aspirin when doing that.

Wishing you the best Friend.

What did you do this time Dan? I call that a “Dammit Dan!”.

I was working and pushed some brush out of the way and a small twig whipped back. I didn't even see it coming. During the first eye exam I couldn't even read the top line. Had an corneal abrasion, then scarring. Last week I was told the scarring was mostly gone so they are going to do a complete exam. At least I have another eye. I will start wearing safety glasses full time at work. Yeah, dammit Dan! 😁

Maybe if I start drinking my sight will improve. At least it's not a detached retina or anything serious, as far as I can tell. I can still drive but may have to close my right eye to scroll. lol

Hope they get that sorted out for you Dan. Things like that happen so fast. As much as we depend on sight and as vulnerable as our eyes are, sometimes I think we should all just wear safety glasses all the time. Then again I’m bad to get in a hurry and not wear them when I really need them.

I used to wear glasses all the time, but then I had cataract surgery and only needed them for close work.  One day I was riding my bike with no glasses on and thought "what if a beetle flies into my eye?"😶   I started wearing safety glasses while on my bike after that, and most of the time in the shop.

Sorry to hear about that injury, hope it gets cleared up soon.

I had double vision in my left eye last year and it was corrected by using lenses attached to the glasses lens over 6 months. I have to wait for another 6 months before the hospital will sign me as being ok. This is stopping me from getting my driving licence as the DVLA won't issue a renewal until the hospital has said ok.

EDIT As I wear glasses I don't think about safety glasses as much as I needed when I was working but I think there should be safety glasses at each machine "just in case"

Sorry to hear about you eye injury.

I have what is called monocular vision...I only see out of one eye at one time.  So I look at the lines and blade mainly with my strong left eye.

You can do the same. While you eye is healing, use an eye  patch over the injured eye and look with just one eye.  This will eliminate the double vision.

I took the one less cut. Hehe. I actually did well. Once on the line it wasn't much trouble staying on it.

Wishing you a full and fast recovery Dan.
During my apprenticeship I had 6 stitches only just below my right eye, the lower lid. Somebody had sprayed laminex for a kitchen top and placed it on top of some wardrobes to tack up. It was sagging and I walked into the corner. The foreman slapped a dressing on my eye and told me to go and see a quack.
I guess I drove the "Road" less travelled because that was the slowest and most difficult drive of my life, with no depth perception and having to screw my head off to see right :)

Fingers crossed for a full recovery.

I've had my share of injuries, do as the doctor tells you, seriously.

I've been wearing glasses since the second grade, I can't even see the big E on the chart without my glasses. So it's not even an option not to wear them. I started using safety lenses and frames since '88.  About 15 years ago I started getting a second pair, workstation glasses they call them. Everything 6' and under is in focus, everything 6' and beyond is fuzzy.

The eye heals pretty fast as long as the scratch or abrasion is not too deep. Hope that is the case for you.

Yeah, the doctors said that over a month ago. They think something else may be going on. I guess I'll see. Or not see. LOL
