Very nice Marie.  You did a beautiful job with the tree of life.  A very nice touch adding the flowers you carved showing your friendship.  This will most certainly be a cherished memory for your friend.  I know when we make special gifts for friends the gift becomes extra special.

Very nice Marie. We should all be so lucky to have nice walnut in our scrap pile.  😉

What are the dimensions of this piece?

Mike

Thank you so much.....I was lucky on the piece of walnut... the diameter is 8 inches.  The thickness of the cutting is roughly 1/2" and the backer board is about 1/4".  thanks again 🙂

Beautiful work on a wonderful piece of stock. Almost looks metallic.

Thank you Jim, It looks more glossy than it does in real life.   I used Deft Satin lacquer spray with the deft sealer underneath.

Super.   That is very special.

Thanks Paul, I modified the cutting from Fish's pattern because I just didn't want to cut out all those leaves (kind of a procrastinator on this one).  I am having trouble with my Excalibur EX-21. It actually took me twice as long to cut this out than it did to carve it.   The tension isn't holding on the saw and it isn't because of my Pegas clamps, because I changed out the knobs, etc. on it.  I contacted @kmmcrafts and he tried to help but it was getting too complicated for me.  So I went ahead and purchased a King 21.  (this is the previous model made in Taiwan).  Anyway, thank you again. 😊

Really beautiful and the Forget Me Not flowers add just that extra something.  Your friend will love it I'm sure.  Well done.

Marg

Marg, thank you for your kind words...And good guess on the flowers 😊

Beautiful work you have done as always..

Congrats on the new saw!! I don't think you can go wrong with the older style King 21" but I don't think the newer models are any different than the Harbor Freight saw other than maybe the color. Shame that they keep tricking people buy using the brand names that was once considered a good solid saw and making them cheaply and selling them at half the price they used to be.

Beautiful work!!

Dan, thank you so much for creating this pattern.  I was in a bit of a hurry so I had to cut a few branches and leaves off your original pattern but I absolutely loved it. 😊 Your cutting was so much better than mine but I do like how it carved out.   Thanks again. 🙏

@MarieC

Beautiful job on an outstanding pattern.  I have tried to find the pattern, but have had no luck.  Does anyone know if Dan(fish) has made the pattern available.

Marie, THANKS FOR SHARING.

Rick

Rick, I don't know if he had.  I did see he commented on mine.  I actually modified his (I just did it by hand) from his picture he posted.  I didn't want to cut/carve so many leaves because I am such a procrastinator that I had to do some pruning on the pattern to get it done on time 😄  His cutting is really nice though.
