  3. Thanks good article
  4. is it still working well? if so keep cuting if not it would be more important if you need parts to know who made it. I do agree with Craftsman style.
  5. I did use scaper for a time. But it is important to get the burr right and learning way to scrape. It does give a good finish. I used to scape the wood before i did the scroll sawing and the finish stayed pretty well.
  6. The link that Larry gave I have watched and it is very through and worth the time. I have not replaced anything or greased yet but know this will need doing this year. I think I will have a engineer who is a friend of mine standing by to help. I know 4 of them. They are very particular on doing everything which is a good thing.
  7. So after the next talk do you get another saw? that is just great. I have done talks but never got anything like that just money and not much of that.
  8. I would say your scroll saw worked extremely well
  9. Thanks. I had thought of the resizer knew many use it. I did get the pattern printed with ink scape but needs more work. The pattern could be better but at least I saw success here. Now for a lot of practice.
  10. I have an epson not that number. Got is few years ago. has worked well for us and my wife prints a lot of grand kid pictures and birds etc. I just us it to print a pattern now and again. I have no complaints but would like to get cartriges for pennies.
  11. Thnak you my friends I will work on these things and what I can do
  12. Well after several trials I finally managed my first intersecting word art. Now I just have to figure out how to set it up for printing. Used my last name but that is 11 letters and not going to fit on one sheet of paper or at least it didn't lost the last 2 letters and was too small. Will Work on it some more
  13. Nicely done I started using a spiral today AGAIN. Must be improving no broken blades but did not always stay where I wanted. Well will keep trying
  14. thanks for the chuckles fun signs
  15. My hats off to the photographer. The would make great puzzles or larger pictures framed. Beautifully done. Can't remember last time I went snow shoeing. Did alot when did snowshoe rabbit hunting with my dad.
  16. I recently ordered some saw tooth hangers and mini drill bits and blades and they were here in a couple days. The only problem i clicked the clicker for the drill bits but was not paying good attention got the wrong ones which I most likely would not use. I called right then and talked with a nice gentleman and asked if I sent them back with a self addressed stamped envelope would he exchange and send them back. That worked out fine. I got what I wanted and he just had to switch bits. Return was quick also even with my sending them back at cheaper slower mail. the whole there and back 4 days
  17. Any chance he would like another grandfather. I am available for the job. Won't be confusion my grandkids just call be PaPa. Just let me know.
  18. Welcome to the Village you will enjoy your time here and don't be afraid to ask questions. I grew up in the Syracuse NY area but live in Indiana now. Where is Poughquag? Like I said grew up there until about 22 but guess not paying attention to my surrounding areas.
  19. I use a Magnifying lamp as well and can't see myself without one. It really makes a difference on the old eyes.
  20. I sit at both the DW 788 and Ex 21 table about mid belly on both. They are on the stands that comes with them and not elevated. I used to have the back higher but found I liked it down better after about 10 years. I put them next to each other then I can do two projects at the same time one with each hand. Not really. It would be faster just can't get my eyes to go to either side of my head.
  21. Is it soft as pine? Maybe a sanding sealer will help with the stain if you use that route. But will be interesting to see how it turns out.
  22. Had not seen in before will have to pay more attention to Sanding at Lowes. I have usually gotten sand paper from Peach Tree when the Wood show comes to town by 50 number per box and save shipping. It this lasts longer then may look more into it. I do buy sheets to cut into strips for finishing pens may think on this if it gives smooth luster.
  23. Have it all glued up and does not look too bad at all. I will see when I finish and i am sure my wife of a friend will enjoy it. That is what it is all about having someone appretiate and enjoy your art work. Hey Dick since it wasn't square let it lean and call it the Effil Pisca. I would have had to kick the cat and bite the dog and cry on that one.
  24. Foot switch will really make a difference. I have on on both my Ex 21 and Dewalt can see driving without one now
  25. Thanks I was wondering myself
