  1. Bit the bullet yesterday and spent a little over an hour getting it installed. Not sure yet whether I like it or not as still hunting for some things. Was used to going to the bottom left and finding games and having a game of hearts before bed but still haven't found it. It also removed my gmail from the menu so have access it through Google home page. Oh, for the days when you found something you liked and could stick with it.
  2. I knew facebook was dangerous. I'm too old to be looking for business but if that's what you want then good for you.
  3. Ditto, Roly. Switched yesterday and am totally confused as can't seem to find anything.
  4. Glad to see how you cut it as I wasn't sure. Looks great.
  5. You are fortunate to have that source.
  6. I was just there and the site is the magazine only. Don't know what happened to the forum.
  7. Very well done. Really like the oak. Looks like it will hold the whole turkey.
  8. I should have learned that it isn't always correct to listen to others ideas. I was working on some cedar given to me that was sawmill cut and not all clear. In order to locate the pattern in clear areas, I decided to glue the pattern directly to the wood and then remove it with mineral spirits. I'm aware that some of you like that but it created a big mess. The pattern lifted but not the glue. I am used to being able to sand immediately rather than wait for the glue to dry. It's back to the painter's tape for me.

Great cutting of an excellent pattern.
  10. Very nice work. Arpop is a screen name for a very nice guy who used to host a group called Free Scrollsaw Patterns. When he closed the group another guy took on and started Free For All Scrollsaw Patterns so everyone transferred there. He finally quit and everyone moved to the Scrollsaw Woodworking and Crafts site. You can still get patterns on Free Scrollsaw Patterns by Arpop although he no longer hosts a site. He and his wife have both contributed a lot to the scrolling community and never received the recognition they should.
  11. The mistake that a lot of people make is that you have to have an expensive saw to do nice work. You just disproved that fallacy. Beautiful work.
  12. Very nicely done and the black really sets it off.
  13. Looks as though you have started something. Can just imagine your daughters friends being jealous. Great idea.
  14. Nice work. I don't think I have the patience for the birdhouses. I've cut a lot of silhouettes like that. A customer sends me the pictures and tells me what thickness for the backer. Not sure what he does with them but have done some famous people.
  15. Beautiful work, surely can't imagine putting a bird in there to mess it up.
  16. I have it and don't believe it is free other than maybe a trial period. I found mine on ebay a long time ago very reasonably.
  17. Very nicely done and a great design. This one strikes close to home as I live in the town of Buffalo whose athletic teams are the bisons.
  18. I surely don't envy you the move but sounds like you have a good situation. Interesting to note that all the comments refer to the shop.

Thx to our local pattern Guru Bobscrolls for another terrific pattern. This one will be a gift for my 92 yr old uncle who happens to live in Kansas.

Great cutting. Had the fun of being in Dodge City when they had the dedication of Front Street and had the cast there for a show that evening. This was back in the 60's.
  21. That should work for what you want. I've got a cordless one that I bought as I didn't have room to cut up large sheets in my shop but it is a joke as doesn't have enough power for anything.

I presented the plaque yesterday and she was thrilled. She offered $40 but I only took $20.
  23. Made a mistake and showed the veteran plaque that I made so got an order for this one. Was intending to do one like this for me but haven't gotten it done yet. Have no idea what I should charge for it.
  24. I like that a lot. Would work great on my counter.
  25. Very nice work. I don't remember ever seeing the card clock pattern. Have been going through my patterns from 10+ yrs ago that were stored in a file on my new computer. It seems a shame that some of them can't be shared as most of the designers have not been heard from for years. A lot of them came from the original Free Scrollsaw Patterns forum.
