  1. I enjoy cutting cedar as well but also like red oak and cherry.
  2. Very nice. Intersecting word art seems to be very popular.
  3. Never felt the need and don't wear the one I don't have.
  4. Thanks to Bobscrolls for the pattern. Done in 1/2" poplar and the addition of the longhorn with the Texas flag colors to personalize it. Will be gifted to an Aunt and Uncle in Texas.
  5. Very well done from great patterns.
  6. Beautiful cutting and love the walnut. 5/8" is my favorite thickness to cut.
  7. Nice cutting and I'm sure a lot of people could use that. I hear you about caring for your father as I am doing the same for my mother and it sure doesn't leave a lot of time for anything else. Fortunately, she likes to sleep late so I can sometimes slip out to the shop before she gets up.

If you cut it as an oval and with two laps of rope would make an excellent display.
  9. At last, a shop that looks like it gets used.
  10. That is a beautiful pattern and also beautifully cut.
  11. Looks just like him only missing the cigar.
  12. Thanks to Sheila and Keith for the pattern that they so generously gave to vets last Memorial Day. I am doing these plaques for my American Legion officers so I can even get one as Vice Commander. It is done in pine and unfinished as yet as not sure how I want to finish it or if I want a backing. I considered colored backing to go along with the branch of service. I think I will add a sawtooth hanger rather than have it free-standing.
  13. I have found that it makes me feel a lot better to do something special for someone rather than selling to a stranger. You did good.
  14. That is awesome and should go over very well in Ohio as didn't he come from there?

    Saw.

Very nice work. Should be great when finished.
  16. I still use the painters tape and to solve that problem, I lay the finished cut on my 6" sander for a good surface then sand the piece with a palm sander or my random orbit sander. Cleans it up quick and as long as it is laying flat, shouldn't be a problem even on delicate work.
  17. Excellent cutting. Glad it was you and not me.
  18. Welcome to the asylum of fellow scrollers who are addicted. We're really not crazy even though it often looks that way.
  19. That is a really nice area as long as you aren't afraid of hurricanes. Used to spend some time as Aransas Pass as was a great area for a weekend getaway.
  20. Any Dad would appreciate that. Very nicely done.

    Nice piece of cutting.

Kevin, I could use the cutoffs from the top and wasn't long enough for a full length. "Necessity is the mother of invention."

Another of Bobscrolls patterns that I modified by adding the Missouri mule. Did this one in 1/2" oak and cut two at once which I will not do again. Have one more to do as these are gifts for 3 good friends of mine from high school which was a long time ago.

    Colorado

Finally got a pic to upload. This is one of Bobscrolls patterns that I modified by cutting the top to match the mountains on the state license plate. Not finished yet but will be a gift for a cousin who lives in Colorado.
  25. I have added this to my to do list but don't think I will show it to anyone as they would all want one.
