  1. I have been using the FD new 3/0 spirals for a few years now. They are very small and will cut great detail. They are my go to blade for fretwork.
  2. Congrats on the new saw. I don't think you will find blades at lowes.
  3. I also use a miter saw for my picture frames. I think I have a 60 tooth blade. My saw is Hitachi and cuts a perfect 45.
  4. I have to agree with a backer. When I cut something delicate I always start at the most breakable spot and work my way out.
  5. You can start by talking nice to the saw and rubbing it a little.
  6. Like others said I also lift up on the blade and push down on the top arm while changing the blade to get rid of all the slack. If I don't do that the tension lever does need to go higher. It seems automatic, I don't even think about it.
  7. Congrats on the new saw. I have been using a DW 788 for a few years. I have never needed to tension over 3.5 or 4.
  8. Great job on both parts.
  9. If you don't have a table saw have them cut it where you buy it. I buy my 1/4" plywood at Lowe's and have them cut it down to 1' by 4' pieces. Then I can get it in the car and don't have to bring my truck. All of my fretwork is 12 x 12 or 12 by 16 so it makes it real easy.
  10. I have a Makita palm sander. It doesn't have any type of vac or bag attachment but I don't think it needs it. Mine is close to 30 years old and still works like the day I bought it. It is one speed I believe around 12,000 orbits. It looks like this one. I use it on all of my fretwork.
  11. She did a great job.
  12. Nice looking work Paul. Good to see you back.
  13. Nice cutting. I am going to have to try some of those blades. I have heard a lot of good things about them. Still looking for a good blade to cut my bowls out. Have an Olson blade here I haven't tried yet and will pick some of these up next time I go to Woodcraft.
  14. Very cool.
  15. Very nice Edward.
  16. Looking good Roly.
