  1. I love Sue Mey patterns. They are all so well done, as is your finished project from one of hers. Very well done. Thank you for posting it, so that the rest of us can also enjoy it. Dick heppnerguy
  2. She looks like she was a sweet gal. I lost my sister, mother and 10 year old granddaughter within a 6 month period. What a nice wooden portrait you have cut of her. The people who designed it will have a special place in your heart along with your sister, every time you look at it. Very sorry for you loss and really happy for you that after all this time, you were given this photo and what a great memorial you made out of it Dick heppnerguy
  3. I have a gal that said she would be ordering 3 of them so I just might make and extra one and paint it, as an example Dick heppnerguy
  4. That what fans are supposed to do. I, personally am not a sports fan at all. I don't care who wins or who plays. So it is an easy acceptance for me. Dick heppnerguy
  5. That is what my son said too. He has been a Ram's fan since he was a small boy. He was so excited about the game. He also said, "Why did you even make it?" Dick heppnerguy
  6. it happens way too often for me... what do I need a picture for? Dick heppnerguy
  7. Dan, You never cease to amaze me with your original ideas. These are really cute and fun pieces. Keep on amazing me and I will continue to be one hopping, happy guy Dick heppnerguy
  8. Here is a Steve Good pattern that I received an order for. I made it using some pine I had and liked the way the darker center part would work well for the football, Steve Good had suggested using 1/4 inch for the laces and the white part to the football but I thought it would look way too thick and changed it to 1/8th inch thick ply. I am glad I did. I was considering just cutting those parts out of the football and putting a white backer board on the back of the piece. I am glad I did not use the 1/4 inch suggestion as I believe my thoughts on it turned out better then it would have with the original suggestion. Dick heppnerguy
  9. Nice to have a new saw and to really like it. Your work is really nice and it is easy to see why they are sold. It appears that you make your frames from one piece of wood, or it looks that way to me. If so you must have some pretty wide boards that you are using for them. Nice pieces. Dick heppnerguy
  10. THANK YOU Peter. It is a really nice piece. I will go take a look and see if I can find the pattern. I think it would be a fun one to make. Dick heppnerguy
  11. I had to edit it as I selected the original Steve Good photo and had to get the one I made. You probably was on as I was editing Dick heppnerguy
  12. I just cut this one out a few minutes ago. The customer wants to paint it the school colors of his boy, who is represented on this jersey. So I have it ready for him to paint and then I will glue it together. I actually liked the pattern more than I thought I would. It is rather cute and should make the receiver feel the pride his dad has in his efforts on the basketball court, when he sees this and hangs it on his wall NOT GOING TO GET A CHANCE TO SEE THE FINISHED PRODUCT, THE CUSTOMER JUST CAME BY AND PICKED IT UP. HE IS TAKING IT HOME AND WILL PAINT IT HIMSELF AND GLUE IT. SO I WILL NOT SEE THE FINISHED ITEM EITHER. Dick heppnerguy
  13. nice toy cars. Those are really special to the kids and the older guys who grew up with these rods running everywhere. I loved seeing them at the drive up restaurants when I was in high school. Very well done. and very appealing Dick heppnerguy
  14. Well said, Paul. Hard to believe it was that long ago. I am in complete agreement about becoming a family member here. One only has to log on and participate and soon they understand what THE VILLAGE is all about. It sure is nice to see your progress, but where the heck is mine? Anyway, I have made a few efforts to help people as they begin their journey in scrolling and some of them have become what I like to think of as a real friend. I have personally met a few people from here and I have not found one that I have not liked personally once I have. Dick heppnerguy
  15. Peter, you never cease to amaze me with your work. This is outstanding. Is this your pattern as well? Dick heppnerguy
  16. Creativity is booming here in THE VILLAGE. NICE WORK AND CREATIVITY Dick heppnergiuy

  19. Nice Paul, I can see you will not need my meager pattern making skills any longer, I will be coming to you for them. Really cute piece, Pattie will love this one for sure Dick heppnerguy
  20. Congratulations Marg on the great cutting and to Paul, who ask me to help him understand how to work GIMP, all so long ago and look how far he has come with it and last but not least, Congratulations to the bride and groom to be, that gets to have all this work become an ever lasting memory from Their special day Dick heppnerguy
  21. Better look out, Kevin. Gordie is giving you a run on hammering out patterns. Nice work, Gordie. You certainly had a busy week in your shop. Nice variety too Dick heppnerguy
  22. Nice pattern and well cut. Is this a pattern in our pattern area? I like it a lot Dick heppnerguy
  23. Looks like you are getting a good grasp on the frame making. The entire project turned out quite well Dick heppnerguy
  24. most pieces I like to do in a thinner wood but for this one, I think it is perfect. I would not bother fishing (pun intended) with any other wood or thickness. Nice piece. Dick heppnerguy
  25. One thing I have found in cutting pieces, at least for me. If I use a really small blade, I find it is sometimes difficult to stay on the line and have recently gone to using a #3 to #6 double tooth blade and found I am able to cut way more intricate pieces then I really thought would work with that large of a blade. It means more sanding of fuzzies but a much cleaner cut for me. Nice idea for Valentines day Dick heppnerguy
