  1. It really isn't a very special project and not something I am really interested in but I was just looking for a quick and easy piece to cut to take up an hour of my time. I showed it to my Grand Daughter yesterday and told her I was going to give it to her son and she said, he probably wouldn't get it because she would take it instead. Funny mom Dick heppnerguy
  2. Thanks I thought rounding the edges would help it to be a little better looking project and I am glad I did it too Dick heppnerguy
  3. I took that photo on my outdoor patio table. It does give it a little different perspective but it was not intended to do that as I was just looking for better lighting for the photo Dick
  4. It is a really quick one to cut as it only has 2 main body cuts. 2 small wheels to cut and 2 rockets. All are really quick and easy cuts. I spent more time rounding the edges and sanding the plane then I did cutting it. Really easy and fun project Dick heppnerguy
  5. Thank you. Some times doing a little extra does help the end results more appealing for sure Dick heppnerguy
  6. Go for it. It is an interesting project to cut. It took more time and effort then i thought it would but I am OK with the outcome. Dick heppnerguy
  7. Thank you Marg. I have been eyeing this pattern for some time and really happy to finally have taken the time to cut it Dick heppnerguy
  8. My wife's request always comes first too. I am planning on cutting some of Jim Blumes patterns in the near future also. He most often places a lot of challenge within his patterns and I now enjoy the challenges awaiting in fret patterns. Dick heppnerguy

wow. 127,00 views and no comments? I can't hardly believe that. It seems that every post someone makes get several comments. I like your word pattern and the way you added to sparkles to it, however I was a little disapointed in the difficulty to view it as the black color simply did not seem to stand out very well but it was the perfect color for Halloween. Good job Travis Dick heppnerguy
  10. Thank you. I would be surprised if he doesn't like it as he seems to be happy with everything else I made for him so far. Dick heppnerguy
  11. I ran across this pattern on Steve Good's site and found it was a really quick and easy one to cut. since I only wanted to spend about an hour in my shop today, I grabbed the opportunity to make it. I wasn't very happy with the stars on the tail and wings as they stood out as being Russian and since I am upset by what Russia is currently up to in The Ukraine right now. But I believe it is Steve Good's use of the star as being American instead and I am using his pattern, I left it as is. When I got it cut and ready to assemble I decided it was a little too plain and decided to round out the leading edge of the wings and the fuselage also the rockets. I thought it made it look quite a bit better and I am planning of giving to to my 5 year old Great Grandson. I made it from a piece of Poplar wood, 1/4 inch Dick heppnerguy
  12. Here is the first Kenny Hopkins pattern I believe I have cut. I have had the pattern for sometime and have wanted to cut it but never got around to it until this week. My wife is in Montana visiting one of our great grand daughters so I was trying to find something to cut in my shop while she was gone and came across this pattern and decided to give it a shot. Here are the results. I cut it from 1/4 inch Baltic Birch. it is 17 X 11 inches. I made an extended backer board to work as a frame as I did not have long enough pieces of wood in my shop to cut one. 13. Barb. Really cute little guys. Nice job with the painting as well. Dick heppnerguy
  14. great looking projects. All of them are really nice. Way to go Dick heppnerguy
  15. That is all you get done for a week? I would still be working on the first pieces in a weeks time. You are almost magical. Very nicely done projects. Dick heppnerguy
  16. really a beautifully done master piece, once more. I probably will never reach your skill level but I am not going to stop trying, as least not for some time. Dick heppnerguy
  17. Very professional looking pieces. You certainly have the painting figured out. I hope some day I will be able to understand this process as well. You have indeed been very busy in your shop. Way to go. Dick heppnerguy
  18. there is a project I would never have guessed would have come up, but with your brother being the one asking, I can now see the connection. He knew in advance who to ask to get the job done and you did not let him down. They came out perfect. How are they going to be used? Just curious. Dick heppnerguy
  19. I can not believe how much planning went into making this piece. It turned out really swell, as everything I have seen you make always does. I guess the planning before hand has a lot to do with the success of your project. It is a real winner, for sure Dick heppnerguy
  20. The pattern had the flag where the name went, also included another banner flag,(for use of another word). where it is set up for the birth and death dates. I discovered once I had both the name and the date cut out and ready to send, that I have the identical year of birth and death. Luckily I showed it to my grand daughter, over the phone, and she caught my mistake. I had originally extended the backer board around the entire piece and I was unable to cut off the bottom flag, containing the error so I proceeded to cut the extended part of the backer board to be so it matched the pattern board. This caused me to cut off both flags but leaving the extension part remaining. I then glued the flag onto the extension, as it is easily seen in the photo. The second one I merely cut the space between the main pattern and the closest name flag, followed by then cutting the extended backer board and was able to leave the flag intact, not needing to glue it on. It looked better but I thought of doing it that way too late for the first one. As far as how I cut the name into the flag part, I just typed out the letters for the name and glued them onto the pattern and cut them as such. Dick heppnerguy
  21. Yes but you have to remember that we moved to Southern Arizona in a part that never gets snow. Funny you mentioned that because yesterday I was going through some CD's and ran across a photo of the snow taken from our front porch. Happy sledding my friend. Dick
  22. We never have snow in Casa Grande but if things don't change pretty soon, it could be a normal thing.. I sure hope not. We had 25 mile winds today and the temperature was a high of only 57 with the wind all day and the morning wind, it is too darn nasty for me. We should be in the mid 70's pretty much every day now but have only seen about 4 days in the normal range this month. Sharon is in Montana right now and the temps there on in the minuses. Yesterday we had upper 70's. It actually felt like Arizona for a day.
  23. This has been the wettest and coldest winter anyone I have talked with tells me. You are right about that. I was having my morning coffee with the guys in our nieghbor hood yesterday and I told them, "If this cold weather keeps up, I am moving to Arizona." Today is extremely windy with some rain again today. We should be having nice comfortable weather every day now but it just isn't happening. I feel really sorry for the people who came down here for the first time to snow bird and they are probably saying to each other, "This is not what I expected. We might as well have stayed home." I often see convertibles with their tops down at Christmas time, here, but not this year. You certainly picked the right year to not come down, for sure. I have not heard what my wife has in mind for this coming summer but I really do not want to drive up there again. Like you, I think my age is making it so It is just too much for both of us. So flying will be about the only way I will want to travel that far again. Last winter I drove to Heppner in one day and turned around the next morning and drove straight back home. 23 hours with not stops but for gas, each way. I will be 83 in April and I am not interested in doing that trip by car. I may be able to use my daughter's car to drive up and visit with Paul, if there is any open time, but that is about it. Take care. hope to see you down this way next winter if this crappy weather ever decides to go back to normal. Dick heppnerguy
  24. Thank you Marg. I added the a Canadian marker today too Dick heppnerguy
  25. Yes I was so glad that you met up with someone from The Village.. What a nice addition to you travel here. Dick heppnerguy
