  2. I cut a Christmas card several years ago but I don't even remember now how I even did it. I believe I saw the idea and how to do it on Steve Good's page if I remember correctly. You perked up some ears when you posted these. Nicely done and should be kept for the artistic special cards, they are Dick heppnerguy
  3. Here is a memory that should go with Brantley and passed down through the family for years to come Dick heppnerguy
  4. Nice projects. I love these little guys. I am thinking about cutting some animal puzzles for four of my 2 and 3 year old grand kids this Christmas. These sure would work well for that. Great job. The great painting jobs really make them pop Dick heppnerguy

  10. that is a great plaque. You handled it superbly. I don't think it could be done any better than you did this one, by anyone. I simply love this project Dick heppnerguy
  11. I am fortunate enough to have a mini split air conditioner in my shop. If I wait until the afternoon and have not turned it on in the morning it is a little too much for it to get things cooled down enough for me to want to be out there also. Our temperatures have been cooler this summer than most. We have been running low 100's to about 110, which overall is somewhat of a relief from the one hundred along with the higher teens but we also have had some humility here almost all summer which is really rare for here. I have 4 projects waiting for me to finish up and here I am in my computer room as I anxiously await my wifes return from Oregon with our girls. She flies in at 10:30 tonight. Dick

  15. You have inspired me so much with your great project that I have decided to cut one of them this week too. I have to make up my mind as to which one though, as they are both fabulous patterns with a little bit of challenge awaiting me. Dick heppnerguy
  16. I believe that Oregon University is one of only two universities that were authorized by Disney to use one of his cartoon characters for their school mascot. Dick heppnerguy
  17. The life of those people is one of commitment and there is no room for and tom foolery. Even if there is a hurricane or super cold and icy day, they are there walking their guard duty, day and night. I have a lot of respect for them. Your son certainly proved his worth to you and got his act together and made you proud as a result. Shortly after I got out of my 3 year commitment in the army,(I was in a constant spit & polish paratrooper outfit) I got married and went to work running a chemical warehouse. Because of my military training, I had that warehouse in perfect shape all the time. All the chemicals in their bottles in the warehouse were always clean and label in alphabetical order and facing the isle. All the floors in the building were buffed and shinning like a new silver dollar. I was proud of the place and the job I was doing. I can't say that about myself now as if you were to walk into my shop right now you would think I was the worse slob you had ever met. You might possibly be correct too. I no longer take the time to keep things in order and clean. I have gone back to my youthful way of doing things. sorry to say. I say that I am my worst enemy and that is mostly true. Dick heppnerguy
  18. I was happy as this was one of the patterns I made myself and I thought the outcome was pretty good. considering I was the total designer of it Dick heppnerguy
  19. I started my scroll saw work doing intarsia. I enjoyed the idea that I could make anything at all out of wood. That surprised me in itself. After messing with those for about 7 years, I got tired of doing them. I still tackle one now and then but now my past is coming back to me in my Facebook memory, look backs, like the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, I posted yesterday here. So this morning I received another one of them from 7 years ago also. This one is one I completely designed and made the pattern myself. It turned out a new doctor was assigned to work in our local hospital and he turned out to be my wife's personal doctor. After talking to him for awhile, I found out he was an Oregon Duck fan so I decided to gift him with a little plaque and this was the results
  20. amazing. Very few can make that grade and commitment. Only really special people have the honor of walking this beat. Dick heppnerguy
  21. Looks like you got it figured out. This project looks flawless. Dick heppenrguy

  23. I am really glad that we took the time to go to Arlington Cemetery as it was a very emotional place for me to visit Dick heppnerguy
  24. I did think that was a great place for it to go considering what the piece was all about. I do not know if it is still hanging there or not. Dick heppnerguy
  25. Here is one I made 7 years ago. I almost forgot all about it. I went to Washington DC with my son and grandson a couple of days after my 75th birthday and my son's 50th birthday. His birthday is the day after mine. This is a JGR pattern and the only one I ever made of it. I gave it to a wonderful person in the little town of Heppner, Oregon, where we lived for 15 years. He was in the Army Intelligence and also the mayor of our town. It humbled him and he thought it would be better seen at City Hall instead of at his house, so he gave it to the city and it was put up in City Hall. Dick heppnerguy
