  1. I love trying to cut anything that comes my way. Sometimes I win and sometimes I loose, but I never quit having fun making sawdust Dick heppnerguy
  2. I am trying to achieve the excellence you post but I guess I am too old to hope for that. Thanks for the nice comments Dick heppnerguy
  3. you are too nice to me.. thanks. Dick heppnerguy
  4. Temperatures in the 70's now, for the most part. A few in the lower to mid 60's. So I guess that beats what most people are going through right now Dick heppnerguy
  5. Nice to have the shop time but I know I will never match your skills, but hey, most of my friends and family do not get to see your work so they have nothing else to compare with, so it helps me to shine a little with them Dick heppnerguy
  6. I like that pattern too. I have cut it 3 times now. Dick heppnerguy
  7. My wife has been gone for three weeks so I have all the shop time I wish for. Missing her and enjoying making sawdust too Dick heppnerguy
  8. probably the train. None of them gave me much difficulty. I like doing fret work most of all. so I enjoyed all of them. I have a couple of other pieces that I found the most challenging but I have yet to post them Dick heppnerguy
  9. I know that I have not posted for awhile but I have been in my shop quite a bit lately. I made and mailed some things before I took a photo of them so they are not available any longer. Here are a few of the ones that I have made. A couple I cut a while back and sold or gave away so I decided to recut them for myself. Dick heppnerguy
  10. this is a beautiful piece. I would like to give it a try sometime also. I like challenges, most of the time, but sometimes I get frustrated with them. I love lots of fret cuts because when you are finished they are so awesome, like your project here. Thanks for posting Dick heppnerguy
  11. So nice not to forget our Coast Guard who take on such hazardous jobs rescuing troubled boaters and people struggling to keep afloat even it high seas. Great memorial and appreciation of all they do for our country Dick heppnerguy
  12. I was just telling a friend about you and your high school woodshop. He is just starting his scrollsaw experience and made his firsh project and is in the middle of his second one. I was showing him some spiral blades and it reminded me of you and how you stated sometime back that you start your woodshop kids on spirals. Haven't seen you here for awhile. So glad we still have so many 'old timers' here, and of course for you I would have to change it to 'long timers." Dick heppnerguy
  13. Botas has made some really nice patterns and you sure did this one an honor, with your perfect cutting of it Dick heppnerguy
  14. This cat has such a focused expression. I have this pattern in my " to do " list also. You really knocked this one out of the park Dick heppnerguy
  15. I love this piece and especially the wood you used. Dick heppnerguy
  16. Like Denny, I was also wondering how you kept the wood from rolling as you cut it. Interesting project, for sure Dick heppnerguy
  17. I seem to remember seeing this pattern somewhere before and liked it then too. You did a great job with it. I also like the blue in the water a lot. If I remember correctly it is a Sam Custodio pattern Dick heppnerguy
  18. some of our past cuts are the ones we cherish the most, at least it seems that way to me. Nicely done Both Kevin and Grampa Dick heppnerguy
  19. A rather perfect pattern to cut as all the necessary details are there but not a bunch of added lines. Makes for a pleasure to cut. I think wood portraits are a perfect gift that will be cherished for a long. long time Dick heppnerguy
  20. A very interesting pattern. I thought for sure I would see a reply from Scrappile and he did not let me down. I know first hand that he enjoys the little gear projects, he comes across. It is almost mind boggling to look at it and understand that is can actually turn smoothly. Dick heppnerguy
  21. What a cute pattern idea. I tells a story without words. Love this project Dick heppnerguy
  22. The wood color makes this basket extra special and adds some splendor to it as well. Nice job on this project Dick heppnerguy
  23. A very well cut project. All lines clean and crisp. I am sure she will love it. Hope you post your finished piece. Dick heppnerguy
  24. My favorite thing to cut are projects for my bride. I would rather make her happy with one projects that she likes then to sell another for $100 to anyone else. Beautifully done fans. Hey that probably makes you, her favorite fan. ( pun intended)
  25. There is nothing I like better than when I made something to give to my wife and she loves it. For me, that is better than selling a piece to a customer, even for $300. Make the wife happy first and then things are ALWAYS okey. Dick heppnerguy
