I found the two words you mentioned. I'm editing this because I forgot to mention what a fantastic family heirloom you have and what a wonderful story to go with it. Your Grandfather must have been a very patient man. I would not attempt this on my scroll saw and he did it with a fret saw? Amazing. Thanks for sharing. -

My next Pegas blade order will be with Dennis. It would be great to have an "In Village" go-to for our supplies. Maybe we can get some of the wood suppliers to give us a break. I know Cherokee Wood Products watches this site and has given me great prices and service. Cudos to all those businesses that support our hobby.

What is your goal? Is it just a project to restore or are you thinking of using it as a full time saw? Parts are not available from what I have heard so you will have to either make your own or spend a lot of time finding a source. For me, it's a NOT!

It looks like you are "chasing" the pattern line. Try not to do that. Just keep cutting and if you veer off the line gradually bring the blade back on to the line. Once the pattern is removed, nobody but you will know that it was altered a bit. Something we've all had to learn.

Gotta love our pets. I'd love to take my cat out to the shop but I'm sure she'd disappear on me and I'd have to go looking. She loves to sit on my desk and watch Nascar though.

Rolf, was this machine a Chinese or Taiwan or ??? Both of my saws are green. One is Canadian and the other is Taiwan. I took the Taiwan saw apart and greased all the joints but I haven't gone all the way to the rear yet. I guess I had better have a look. So far, no vibration but I don't want any either.

It's way over my head but I did buy an Arduino starter set and have learned a little bit from it. I have always been interested in electronics but at my age, it's very hard to grasp all the terminology.

I know there has been a few mentions here on Scrollsaw Village about CNC machines and 3D printers. I ran across this little video on youtube and thought some of you might be interested in watching it. I subscribe to "Instructables" and almost everyday I get an email with a bunch of things that folks have made and how they did it. This is one of them. Nobody has mentioned that you might be very smart to see if there is an upgrade to your saw to allow you to use pinless blades. Being stuck with only pin end blades you can't get any of the very tiny blades that will allow you to get in tight places. No matter what brand you end up with, if you can convert to pinless blades and then get sample packs from the 3 top suppliers, you'll be able to figure it out for yourself. The projects that you cut and the wood type that you use will dictate which blade tooth design is best also. But until you can switch to pinless blades, you are really limiting yourself in many ways. Best of luck in what you choose to do.

She was a wise lady. I hope you know that I'm just "jesting" with you. We all need to make the adjustments to our scrolling environment that allows us to work in confort. If that works for you, then it is "beautiful". Scroll on fair maiden!

That's absolutely true. But, how to you get off your feet and still lean against it? I have bad feet and I am always looking for ways to stay off of them.

I guess that you are calling it a "chair". I remember many years ago when there were still milk delivery trucks that had a "leaning post" type of seat that the driver would lean against while driving between stops. I'm old, I get "confused" very easily anymore. LOL.

Whenever I lose something, I go buy a new one. I always keep the receipt so I can return it because I know I'll find whatever it was.

That's not a bad drive. Especially for the rainbow at the end. If you can pick up both saws for that price, I'd be all over it too. As Kevin said. Maybe you could offer him an extra $50 to meet you half way.
