Welcome to the Village Michael ! With all your experience, you should have a lot to share with us. We love pictures of project’s members have cut. Also, fell free to offer up advice.
That is a hunk of wood!!! If you need a sample of Mahogany to compare once you clean it up, let me know. I’ll send you a small piece. I have some genuine Honduran Mahogany.
Not boring at all Frank. It’s great that you were able to fix the dust collector out of your work space. Nice job and nice saw! I have a Pegas on order.
Welcome to the Village John! Scrolling indeed is a fun hobby. It will be frustrating at first, but I’m sure you will get the hang of it. You will have lots of questions, so come back often. What saw was ordered?
I wouldn’t even consider cutting glass on a scroll saw. First, you would have to use water to lubricate the blade. Then, all that glass slurry would accumulate in the bearings and just destroy them!
You did a nice job on it Ken. I agree, it would’ve looked nicer in a hardwood. Steve Good creates nice patterns, but sometimes doesn’t realize how fragile some designs will be.
Beautiful work Ken, you did an excellent job cutting it!
Patrick Spielman was a great instructor. I learned a lot from his books way before the internet. His legacy still lives on in work like yours!
Congratulations on the new saw. You now own two premium saws!
I just can’t see this working as each and every blade cuts differently. It requires the user to compensate for the blades deficiencies. Not to mention different brands and different sizes of blades.
