Very nice cutting Dan and the frame looks good considering it’s your first! The two most important factors of frame making is cutting exact 45° corners and each pair of sides must be precisely, exactly the same length.

When I take photos for my Etsy site, I use a a light box. I have several different colored back drops. I also have a very nice Canon digital camera with a tripod. Then I would have to download the photos to my iPad, then edit them. I found out that my IPhone takes just as good pictures as my expense camera. So, anymore, I just use my phone to take photos. They automatically upload from my phone to my iPad. If they need editing, I use the IOS photo editor. If I’m taking pictures of equipment, tools or jigs to show on the forum, I just use the phone, just the shop lites and post it. Please continue to show your work. I do appreciate great photography, but it’s not necessary to post here. Most here are hobbyists and don’t do this to make money. Do the best you can. We won’t judge you by the quality of your photography skills!

Les, did you sand the BB beforehand? I always sand my BB to 320 grit before I apply the pattern, however I never apply tape or shelf liner under the pattern. A spritz of mineral spirits takes the pattern right off.

Also, never use the tip to spread the glue and never let the tip touch the work piece.

You’re not supposed to spray your thumb Kevin! I have no idea about the whether Kevin as we never, or hardly ever have freezing whether. My current can of 3M 77 is almost empty. In fact, I have been expecting it to Peter out for weeks now But keeps on ticking. I spray my patterns on a pizza box sitting on my work bench. We do pizza ever Friday, so I always have a box to spray on. As long as I wipe off the nozzle after every use, it will keep spraying until it empty. -

The nozzle clogs up because the glue builds up on the opening of the nozzle. It takes two seconds to wipe off the nozzle after each use. Also, I keep a couple of nozzles in a small jar of mineral spirits in case I need a fresh one. But since I have been wiping off the nozzle after each use, I haven’t needed to change it. -

I’m always concerned about patterns loosening while I’m cutting. I use 3M 77 spray adhesive on the pattern, no tape underneath. As Brenda mentioned above, I spray mineral spirits on the cut pattern. It will lift right off. Then wipe off the mineral spirits and you’re good to go. If you don’t want to use mineral spirits, then you can heat the pattern with a heat gun or a hair dryer. The heat will loosen the adhesive and the used pattern will lift right off. -
