  5. Great Job! Looks amazing.
  6. I just started with the lathe about a year ago. So I'm still learning and am much more confident with my scroll saw. However, my father-in-law turns bowls that are really artwork and getting a few hundred for them. Most are sold before he's finished with them. And I end up donating most of my bigger scroll projects to get rid of them, so I definitely agree with your point. People seem to appreciate the talent scrolling takes, but it isn't always something they want to pay for.
  7. Great job. Looks good. I second the idea that it's oak. The grain pattern and color look like oak to me. The maple I've worked with is usually fairly white in color.
  8. Welcome from Montana. Looking forward to seeing some of your projects.
  9. Great Job!. I know exactly how you feel. I like doing what I want to do, but working on projects for others gets in the way at times. I guess what they want and what I want doesn't always meet up.
  10. Great Job cutting. I love Mike's patterns, but have yet to find the time to do one. Looks wonderful.
  11. Great Job Cutting. They look amazing.
  12. I had to google the quick blade release and found a youtube video from the Poor Man's Shed. He used a cam locking system to create his own quick release blade system. Looks like it'd work alright if you keep the handle out of the way of your work.
  13. I use olson because that's what the stores around here carry.
  14. Wow. Great job! I can see why the cheetah took you so long.
  15. Great Job! Looks stunning!
  16. Good Job Cutting.
  17. I have used wood dyes on some of my projects. They allow the grain to show through, but as stated, can be pretty messy. I make sure I have old news paper laid down and wear latex gloves.
  18. I use gorilla glue. Just a little is more than enough as it expands as it dries. Never had any issues with it.
  19. Welcome from Montana!
