  1. I do Paul. I recently came upon a baby racoon fret piece that I really wish to cut now but I can not find it. Still looking Dick heppnerguy
  2. It is just a long time cutting little holes. The end project just is evaluated by the many holes I made in the wood. the more absent pieces there are in the wood, the more interesting the holes become to me Dick heppnerguy
  3. I am really loving to do fret patterns right now. I find the more there is to a pattern the more self satisfaction I get from it. Dick heppnerguy
  4. thanks for the nice comment. I have not had a lot of shop time lately but the wife is traveling for about 3 weeks so I hope to get more shop time now, for awhile, anyway Dick heppnerguy
  5. I will be anxious to see which pattern you are working one Dick
  6. After cutting the 'peace sign' pattern of Charles Hand and really appreciated all of his efforts when I had trouble downloading the peace sign. After all the time he gave me, I remembered Charles Hand had another of his patterns on the front of the last Scroll saw magazine so I decided to give it a go also. I have a granddaughter that had a racoon for a pet several years ago and decided to make it for her for Christmas as a reminder of that time in her life when she found the little racoon outside her home. If you also have the magazine, you might want to give it a try, I used a #2 spiral Peg as blade and cut it with a 1/4 inch Baltic Birch ply. enjoyed cutting it and found it quite challenging too. 7. Another well done project by you. I enjoy Alex's patterns and have made several myself. They are always interesting and fun to cut. Dick heppnerguy
  8. I really like Charles Hand's patterns and you made a really great project from this pattern. I really like the results of this one. Very nicely made Dick heppnerguy
  9. Another well cut project....but then, That is always the way your pieces turn out. Enjoy always seeing your work in person when I visit you Dick heppnerguy
  10. what a cute puzzle. Nice project Dick heppnerguy
  11. Oh my, What an enthusiastic Response/ Do you have any idea how that kind of energetic comment feels? Super great. thanks Dick heppnerguy
  12. Congratulations on a project well done. It looks perfect once the pattern is removed. that is one of the nice things about scrolling is it is difficult to determine if you went off the line after the pattern is removed, unless you went quite a bit off the line and then went too quickly to get back on, then it leaves a very noticeable jagged line. 13. Here is a Steve Good pattern I cut a couple last year for a Halloween decoration. I thought it was a fun piece Dick heppnerguy
  14. I recently purchased a smaller router but I have not even taken it out of the box. This gives me a reason to give it a try. Do you also us bits made for a cnc machine or a regular router bit? Just wondering Dick heppnerguy
  15. thank you so much for uploading this video. It was very informative and also something I hope to try in the near future. Bless you so much for taking your time to do this for me. I truly appreciate it. Dick heppnerguy
  16. I really do not understand how one can router out letters. Would be interesting to see done. I might go to Youtube and see if I can find something on doing them like that. Your sign is truly well done and I can not even imagine how you were able to do it, except with a scroll saw. It is a great sign. Maybe you were too hard on yourself by doing it the way you did. Dick heppnerguy
  17. That is exactly one of my worst hangups. I tend to judge things through my own mind, as whether it is appealing to me or not and pass up a lot of opportunity to reach out to others who just might enjoy having one. I guess I am a little thick headed. I tell myself it is because I am old and a little cantankerous. My wife is disagrees with the 'little' part in the last sentence. Dick heppnerguy
  18. Not sure why you said it was a waste of BB for you and also why you did not finish it. It has to be a really simple pattern for you to cut. I know, I have seen many of your amazing projects and just sat there with my mouth wide open in amazement. Maybe the subject manner of the project was just not to you taste. Dick heppnerguy
  19. The really difficult time was trying to figure out what the proper size of each layer to be cut. I looked at the finished project and had to guess as which out side layer was actually the right layer I thought it to be. I think I was very close on at least most of them but not truly accurate. Had my computer accepted the actual pattern, as it should have done. It would have come together much easier and more accurate than it did Dick heppnerguy
  20. Brenda, for you to make this nice comment on my work, with all the really impressive things you have cut, I am humbled and gratified by your post. Dick heppnerguy
  21. Thank you. Nice of you to take your time to comment on it. Dick heppnerguy
  22. thank you for your encouraging words. They are appreciated Dick heppnerguy
  23. I use 1/4 inch BB Ply as I was out of my 1/8 inch. So it is thicker as I really wanted it to be. It is an interesting pattern and fairly easy to cut as there really are no aggressive circular angles to deal with. It would not be a pattern that would interest me personally but I think my son will like it a lot. Dick heppnerguy
  24. If you saw one cut to the exact directions and dimensions, the part I left out would stand out like a lit lightbulb. If you do not have a comparison, one would not know the difference. Dick heppnerguy
  25. fun Idea. It is for my son and I will suggest that clock idea to him. He might just like that. It is maybe a little too small for most clocks though. Only about 8 inches across Dick heppnerguy
