    @Denny Knappen has a pretty good magnifier on his saw at Art Crafters. I don't use a magnifier, but did try his out on a visit.

    Looks a lot butternut to me. If it cuts like walnut, that's it. It is sometimes called white walnut.

    With my Dewalt, I was 95% top feed. Now on my Pegas, I have switched to bottom feeding as I guess I am cautious to not feed into one of the sawdust holes.

    Repeating earlier comments that Steve is a great resource for our hobby and I am very, very grateful for his sharing with us. Best wishes for a smooth surgery and smoother recovery. I know he will be a good patient, but I must emphasize following the therapy plan.

    Sawdust therapy is akin to to sitting next to a hearth with a warm beverage--makes you feel warm all over.

    I did a piece for the grandkids. Cut from 1/8" (3mm) plywood. Had a friend 3d print the names at 2mm. Flat black on satin white. 8 x 10 frame.

    I tried using cookie cutters one year and tried to decorate them as cookies. Cutting was spot on--decorating left a lot to be desired.

    Update: My DIL found a birthday card signed by her mom who unfortunately was killed in a car wreck 10 years ago and I was able to get the signature copied and cut to finish the plaque. Lettering done by a friend on his 3d printer at 2mm height.

    I wish I knew. I saw a picture of it on line sometime last year, screen shotted it and made a few minor adjustments.

    I don't know about under the tree, but on the tree is a different story. The round ornaments are for cousins and their adult children. The sleds will be personalized with paint marker for the offspring--the third generation.

    Don't know that I would stain it. A few coats of clear or amber finish and calling good.

    It is a Steve Good pattern. Three sizes for 1/8, 1/4 and 1/2" stock. Never tried the big one.

    I have cut a bunch of those manger scenes in both 1/8" and 1/4" (3 - 6 mm) and they are fun to do--except when you put your finger in the wrong place and the super glue wins. The small ones, I have put an eye hook in them as an ornament.

    It definitely has a stained glass feel to it. Maybe if our old buddy @trackmansees this, we might see something similar from his family glass shop.

    Greetings from EN70gf, also known as East Central Indiana. Since you have done scrolling in the past, you understand that "donations" to the burn bucket are inevitable. But, as long as the sawdust is still being created, those ornaments will get done. Make lots of sawdust, make lots of contacts and post a picture or two when those cuttings are done. de KB9LEI

    I was great right up until the jalapeño cheddar sausage. But, individual tastes vary--so enjoy them.

    Getting stuff ready for family and a couple of single day shows. The snowman is one of 14 cut from scrap, sprayed satin white and hat and details handpainted. The sleds is part of 17 for younger family members and close friends. They will be personalized with white paint markers. Quarter shown for scale. Paint is International Harvester Red (now Case IH). And I assembled a bunch of sets of holiday themed earrings. All this to accompany left over ornaments from years past. Now, to get the pricing done.
