Don't know if this will help any but i just cut a piece of paper the size of the insert i want then make smaller copies at the local office supply till i get a eye ball match.. No doubt there are math formulas but at .10 a copy it works for me.. And no, i don't think it was a stupid question
Check cherry tree catalog they have a nice collection of hardware, i use a ring hanger for most times. If your lion (which look great) is real heavy maybe 2 ring hooks and a wire like hanging a large painting..
on the wall ? I would look for a stud to put my hook in
Welcome to the village, a lot of pro's here all willing to help. And ill add the old standard -the only stupid question is the one you don't ask- so get started make some mistakes but above all enjoy it's a great hobby...
Welcome to the village, there is a lot of information available here just for the asking, and your right scrolling can be very rewarding. Your hanger looks like it could be copied (trace). we have a pattern maker here who mite help.
I've done things like that more often then I like to admit but since for me it's just a hobby no big deal, like mentioned by Heppnerguy most wood glues should come off with water. I use a hot glue pot so no getting the glue off
But you can be sure your not only one with a duh moment !
I also agree with you Charley and years back i found that when starting with a square piece of wood i cut each corner off, this gives me 8 edges for my fingers to use in turning the work, for me it seems to help the control work
Whatever system you use to tension your blades new user's should be aware a loose blade will cause you more trouble then one a little over " just right "
