  1. Hey everyone. It's good to see you're all well and still scrollin'. I've been keeping one eye on the village whilst keeping a bit of a low profile - the work load has increased, and I am also building up my show stock (as well as a completely new concept of segmentation that I'm working on...still in the early stages.) Anyway, with it being the Chinese New Year, I thought I'd share 2 new commission pieces with you. I'm not sure if any of you remember me mentioning a piece I cut for a local Chinese Takeaway, that was experiencing a number of undesirable customers? Well they wanted 2 more. The brief was simple...a horse in portrait (for the New Year) and a lotus flower in landscape. The rest was up to me (which is exactly how I love it!). Hope you all enjoy, and I'll keep dropping by in between work (when you guys have the coffee on!) Kindest Regards, Nick. http://www.scrollsawvillage.com/gallery/album/274-miscellaneous/
  2. Keep a tight hold on to the fact thet nobody was in there at this disastrous time. However distressing and upsetting...things are just things - and life is safe. Kindest Regards, Nick.
  3. Hope things improve soon, Marg. Keep yourself and the family safe.
  4. I think you'll find that's a "Bankers Bonus Detector". He knows where it's gone really - he's just being his usual patronising self. Maybe some of our morally superior forum members can help...have any of you got a spare "Backbone Detector" he could borrow? (I'm not bitter...I just detest all financially corrupt politicians!)
  5. Sorry I didn't reply earlier Tony...I've been very busy. Yes mine is a very early cut and if I remember rightly, it was from Steve's site also. (Although I did remove the outer 'chain effect' border - wasn't too keen on that).
  6. No problems, Sul. I tend to keep quite a bit in, just in case I can manage to add more detail when I'm nearing the end of cutting. Many thanks, Nick.
  7. Hi Marg...hope all's good. This image still needs a little cleaning and possibly a few bridges looking at, but I've done most of it. This is the level of detail that I always work at, and with your standard of work - I'm certain that you'll have no issues. If you need anything else, just let me know. Kindest Regards, Nick.
  8. Well said Mahendra. I couldn't have put it any better myself. (And to you and your family, of course). Regards, Nick.
  9. It's good to hear that all's well. A scare really does make you worry though. Keep us all updated - keep heathy, Nick.
  10. Not sure - we use it for general air cleaning around the home, which it's fine for. The air quality is not dusty or bad to start with but is does leave a nice clean feel wherever it's placed. Hope it helps. Nick.
  11. Hey Danny...I swear by this one. It's always on and we're thinking of getting another. It makes the air beautifully cool and clean. Hope this helps, Nick. http://www.ebay.co.uk/bhp/heaven-fresh
  12. Nice work Danny. I love intricate floral work.
  13. Hey Andrew...as the others have already said, welcome to the village. Kindest Regards, Nick (East Coast -UK)
  14. Great news Richie. So good to hear all's worked out well for you. Keep healthy.
  15. It's so good to hear that your recovery is going well Jerry. Keep your feet up and the stress down.
  16. Saws, whiskey and a flying sleigh...not too sure about that combo Dan! LOL
  17. New saw eh...very nice. Hope you and your family have a great Christmas, Clayton.
  18. Hey Darcy...you know we'll all still be here when you're ready to come back. Kindest Regards, Nick.
  19. All the best Keefie. Have a good one. Regards, Nick.
  20. No Marg. I had this problem a while ago. Just reduce the size of your photos before uploading. Most phones & cameras are high resolution now - just reduce the sizes using your choice of image editor (GIMP / Photoshop etc). If I remember correctly, when uploading to SSV gallery, it does state the maximum upload size at the bottom if the screen. Hope this helps. Regards, Nick.
  21. Very nice!
  22. Nice work. Layered fore & backgrounds always look impressive when done correctly. Detail really is worth the wait. You should be proud of this piece.
  23. Ohhh...man! Roly...that explains so much. Why didn't you say so before? LOL
  24. Wow Sully...sounds bad! (What happened to the trolley full of groceries?) LOL. No seriously - good that you're ok.
