  1. I too like your turtle sign but when I scrolled down to the next entry and saw Lorenzo's post of the little green turtle I could not help laughing out loud. Such a funny reply Dick heppnerguy
  2. Yes your black book is most likely jammed with saw dust. There can not possibly be any clean, mom saw dust filled air and where near your house as you continue to turn all the trees in Florida to saw dust and scrolled names. You rock
  3. Peter, I am so glad you used my idea and that it worked so well for you. Now it is my turn to use your originality by changing the format of what I am stuck with and to also use more color that will add to the eye appeal and give them more pizazz. Thanks Peter for your help Dick heppnerguy
  4. Glad to see that others are starting to make connections with other Village family members. One of the things I enjoy a lot about being a family member here. Dick heppnerguy
  5. Wow Roly. Sorry to hear about your wife having the sudden problems. But glad when I got to the part about her doinguch better and it ses there are not big threats for her and you now. How scary that it's hsve been. You two be cReful and take good care of yourselves. None of your scroll family wants either of you to suffer any health issues. Sick Heppnerguy
  6. I super glue most of my projects and I do not have any problem with any of those. But if it intarsia and quite a bit heavier then the scrolling items, I use saw tooth ushers with nails but I really like Gator's answer and I will be looking into those screws myself
  7. you never seem to run out of nice ideas. I wish I had some of your original ideas floating around in my head, once in awhile. Dick heppnerguy
  8. I think you did a super idea that probably started a few brain motors to fire up, after seeing this item. The design is delightful. Nice idea Dick heppnerguy
  9. a very impressive set of power tools. Looks like you will not need to stop any projects because your tool ran out of power , or because you won't have to wonder where you are going to get the next tool you need to get the job done.. Very nice Dick heppnerguy
  10. Gator, You have been one busy boy. You pattern choices have been so interesting over the past few months. Both patterns cuttings are excellent. Thank you for sharing with all of us. Just gives me inspirations to jump my comfort level up a few notches. Dick heppnerguy
  11. I like these a lot. I throw most of this kind of scrap wood into my shop fire place. Maybe i need to re-think that Dick heppnerguy
  12. Kevin, It is easy to see that you are always busy in your shop, but my question is, what are you planning on doing with all that work? It is fun to make sawdust, that is for sure. I can think of nothing more relaxing and fun then to scroll. Is this just how you like to pass time, or is there any particular place or person you have in mind to give or sell your work to ? Just wondering Dick heppnerguy
  13. I think a more challenging selection of patterns to cut would solve your problems. My wife has to yell at me to get me to come into the house to eat, or else, I just forget.. Dick heppnerguy
  14. One would not want to be without Inkscape.. Good thing they do such a wonderful job keeping up on the times.. Hey and a new computer for Edward.. Enjoy Dick heppnerguy

Just know that everyone will be waiting to see you back on line again. Be sure and log on and let us know how your travels are going, if one of the places you stop at has the internet going. Everyone will wish to know how things are going for you.. Safe travels.. Dick heppnerguy
  16. I was wondering, Kevin, why she doesn't like me Dick heppnerguy
  17. When i saw this pattern made by our friend, Fish, I knew I had to cut it. Although it was not anything I myself or my bride would particularly want, she agreed it was a great pattern. So yesterday i cut it and found a frame that I got in a garage sale for 75 cents and since I was happy with the out come. I had to decide whom I would give it to and then I remembered that my wife's hairdresser has American cowboys pictures hanging all over her shop. so who better than someone who loves the cowboy so much ? Tomorrow I will parade into her shop and next time I go into her shop, I will see if it has been added to her decor. Thanks, Fish for the great pattern and allowing me to find the perfect gift to give to someone in our small town Dick heppnerguy
  18. very nicely done. I like both of them. You made the pattern makers proud, as well as your wife and your scroll saw family. Dick heppnerguy
  19. a really fun project. I remember when I made one and I made a big mistake and had to cut it all over again, that was after I was farther along then you are. Yours looks great and I know you are getting excited as you near completion. I am getting ready to start another one, myself, probably next week. continued great success to you.. It is coming along very well Dick heppnerguy
  20. Gerald, you can already see that there are many members on your side of the pond so you are not alone here. there are a lot of scroll patterns that you can do just fine with your pinned blade and by the time you are getting comfortable with them, you will start to try more challenging ones and it is then that you will discover you NEED a saw that takes pinless blades but you still have more patterns to cut before you really need to worry about much. Check out the pattern page and pick some that do not have a lot of small holes in the middle and you will learn to become good friends with your saw. Be sure and log on often and ask any question that you may have, explore the site and check out the University tab for a free education that can last you a life time.. Glad you found us and happy you are here Dick heppnerguy
  21. That a girl, Marg.. I love that you found it not that hard and I hope to see another intarsia from the woman down under, within 2 weeks.. Dick heppnerguy
  22. Here is what I believe. There are several patterns out there that is supposed to help you put more hold down pressure on your blade , if you uses it. Steve Good has made one of the patterns for free, on his web sight. They really do the job well but a word of caution. They also put much added strains on the saws thumb screw. I made one for my saw because the blades seem to work loose as I was cutting a pattern and this added wooden piece that was put over thumb screw accomplished what I was after. I was really happy that I had discovered this helpful pattern. However, in a rather short time, I discovered that my had stripped and I was now waiting a replacement for my stripped part. Shortly after replacing my set screw, I read an article that was warning against using such a device on my saw because it would eventually cause the thumb screw to stip. What now ? Then I read about the thin layer of protective oil on the new blades and that they needed to oil free. I found out I needed to clean off that oil layer. I use a small piece of sandpaper that I always have by my saw. Never does another blade get put into me saw until it is sanded on both sides of each end of the blade. I only need to hand tighten the thumbscrew, with no kind of additional tool. That was several years ago and I have not had another thumbscrew stip on me since. Dick heppnerguy
  23. I'd like to take a peek at it when it is not spinning.. Oh, that might be my head still spinning from last night.. What the heck am I doing sleeping here in the bathroom next to the toilet? now the toilet is spinning like Roly's top. I have to get out of here.... bye everyone Dick heppnerguy
  24. I have always found The Wooden Teddy Bear to be friendly and very prompt with their order filling...If this story is true, I think you will still receive good service Dick heppnerguy
  25. Nicely done.. I love this pattern too. Forgot about it, nice wake up call to cut it too. You do a very nice job cutting your patterns Dick heppnerguy
