  1. Antonia, I want you to know that you are not the only 'beginner' here. Several of our new members are just starting out too. Please feel free to check out the pattern library and they are all free to download. In fact roam all over this sight and check out all of it. there are some great tutorials here that will help you to learn a lot. Our 'chief cook and bottle washer' (Travis), as he likes to call himself, has made several tutorials that are in the 'university' tab in the forum. My suggestion would be to log on here often and you will soon feel like you know the regulars here and you will find them to be helpful and friendly. As you saw from Marg's post and most of the other posts, we are an international family. What kind of saw and blades are you using ? If you continue to challenge your abilities but don't pick anything way too advanced for you, then you will enjoy our sawing efforts and not get discouraged. Have fun and a big WELCOME to you. We are all glad that you have found us. Dick heppnerguy
  2. I posted this wine box on my Facebook page and within 20 minutes, I had an order for 2 of these for wedding gifts. I suggested teh inlay might be wedding bells or double rings, but both wanted the wine glass inlay. It always surprises me how quickly some things sell. Many thanks to Jim Finn for his influence on the inlay. I love how even I can do it (somewhat). Dick heppnerguy
  3. the pattern is not mine. I downloaded it somewhere, maybe even here, I don't remember. I just added the words to it. Dick heppnerguy
  4. I have not posted much of my work for while but I thought that I would post this one. I still need to put the finish on it, but otherwise, I have it done. I added the wine glass inlay just to give it a little more character. It is a Sue Mey pattern and I thought that adding an inlay, I could make it focused on special events, like a wedding, anniversary or birthday and any other event, by changing what is inlayed on the lid. This is only the second inlay I have done so I am in hopes that if anyone decideds to purchase a box from me, it will keep me doing some inlay from time to time.

  9. hey Colin. I did a quick search and I found our a couple of things that might be of interest to you. the first one is an attachment stating that you saw is warrented for 5 years. So this should be a free fix, I think. the second thing I found out was the complete parts manual for your saw. I think you could easily find the answer for your nearest dealer by going to the attached manual sight. Dick heppnerguy

  19. I remember when I would drive a truck to a town 100 miles away at 3:30 am and I would be fighting sleep. I would loop my left hand over the air horn line and when I just started to doze off my arm would relax and the air horn would blast away. that wokd me really fast and I would pull into the next rest stop and catch about 15 minutes sleep and I was good to go Dick heppnerguy
