  1. I top feed, my fingers have learned what to feel for. Remember, the bottom clamp is the exact same as the top clamp. I feel for the slot and push it in, feel for the bottom of the blade with my left hand to be sure it is all the way back, hold it and tighten the clamp. I hope that helps. I never could bottom feed
  2. Beautiful!
  3. The piece is titled First Fathers. It depicts Mount Rushmore with the following Indian chiefs in front. Chief Joseph, Sitting Bull, Geronimo and Chief Red Cloud. I cut it from 1/8” Baltic Birch plywood (440 cuts). It was finished with Danish oil. It is backed with black foam board and framed behind glass with a frame set I purchased.
  4. OH! The Language! Didn’t even happen to me and I said it!
  5. Brass screws. Put in a same sized steel screw first, then the brass.
  6. I recently bought a new DW788. It is a workhorse. Does what I need with no finicky issues. I love it!
  7. Emery boards from the dollar store.
  8. I think the blade was too small for the pattern and wood.
  9. I love my Office Depot. I did not know they do this!
  10. I bought the newest Scrollnado. Steve Good did a review on it. It came with everything including the dust separator. I really like it. I scroll indoors.
  11. I will cut the pages out of a book with a razor knife if need be. I take the insert out of the magazine and close the staples back up. I keep the inserts filed by year. I have some file cabinets I use for my woodworking and other hobbies. Plus a bookcase or two.
  12. I put a wire shelf in my room ( the cheap closet ones), and made hooks out of wire coat hangers (from dry cleaning). I put the screw eye in the top of the ornament, stick in a hook, dip, wipe, hang. I spread newspaper on the floor. Caution: stuff gets put on top of the shelf.
  13. I always finish them with mineral oil. I don’t want a finish to mess up my kitchen pots or casseroles. I usually make them from 1/2 material.
  14. Steve Good sells them. 1” circle. Easy to add. For all he gives me, I like to be able to purchase something from him.
  15. These are a Shiela Landry/Keith Fenton design. Made from 1/4” Cherry with a painted 1/8” Baltic Birch backer. I don’t do much word art. These sell well. I don’t send flowers when someone dies, I send one of these. I also keep at least one handy “Just in Case”
  16. If you need a general idea of how to do these, Steve Good has one.
  17. The Carolina Scrollers is a good group! We have a group in Cary. Sunny Scroller’s.
  18. Are you putting a backer on them? Wouldn’t that make them 1/8” cut, 1/8” backer, I/4” finished product?
  19. Now, that’s interesting!
